I played plenty of both.
What I'm saying is, I've never had this many problems in terms of people eating shots. Foreign host=/= west coast. I have 5 friends from Cali and Seattle, who I've played with since Halo 2. I'm use to playing on their host, its just in Reach I find that people are online warriors more than ever.
...so, you think a hitscan game (bullets hit the person on their screen, even if they/host see you looking/shooting a different direction) drops more shots than an active projectile in h3, where even if you see your bullets hit them, it doesn't hurt them if they weren't in that exact place on their screen... go back and play it, you really have no clue.
The only time bullets won't connect in Reach is if you didn't shoot them, or if an object got in the bullet's path on the host's screen. Assuming hit-scan weapons, and not something like a needler of course.
No. Perhaps I'm wording it wrong, or even I'm just way to tired to explain it. For example, I played a game that was on my friends host. His host for me, is terrible. People eat shots, the game delays in prompting text/medals. I get a double kill doesn't say it for about 4 seconds after. I can shoot someone 6 times, and their sheild won't pop. I've gone into theater and looked at it, seen the bullts connct to the body/head and counted. I know Halo 3 has crap reg. overall, especially if the host was crap. I just find that it never really played that much of a detrimental role in my games, as opposed to Reach. Where my DMR bullets won't connect at all depending on the host. The bullets hit, but they don't count.
I.E. Bloodshots.
On a side note, it could also be the amount of time Its been since I've played 2/3 distorting my image of those two.
