Subject: Why dont the Covenant use human weapons?

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Why is it that in the Halo campaigns you never find the covenant with human weapons?

Apart from machine gun turrets and warthogs. Humans can use covenant weapons so why cant they use ours?

I just think it would quite realistic to find the occasional elite with a DMR or Assault Rifle, maybe the occasional rocket launcher or laser. Its perfectly plausible they could have picked them up from dead marines.

So i think it would be good because it would be a little bit more realistic and it would add variety to the game.

Now to zip up my flamesuit. I know ive not said anything hugely controversial, but in this community people are aggressive about anything -_-

Hey, uh, if you like vs threads, then check out this little group right here, if you have the time. It's pretty fun, just hop right in.

Because it goes against their honor, and they'd probably be executed if they used anything the "heretics" use.

Cause people complain that it breaks canon. No joke. One time I tested an Invasion map where Elites were given pistols, and there was one guy who raged the entire time because it broke canon.

I would have thought that the elites would do anything to kill their enemy. Its better than having covenant with infinite plasma rounds

It doesnt make sense how it breaks their honour to use handheld human weapons but using human turrets and warthogs is ok

I always end up being trolled when the elite jumps on the hog turret.

In Halo Canon, Covies won't use Human weapons as is defies their honour. If they did run out of ammo, An Elite for example would use his fists rather than pick up an enemy weapon.

Elites have a very strict honor code, which is why those who do use human weapons are labeled as 'heretics'.

The turret/warthog thing is just because they didn't turn it off, they probably just overlooked it. Weapons are easy enough since they never swap them out for anything on the ground, so they could just spawn them with covy weapons and leave it at that. I imagine making only certain vehicles not useable would be more difficult (not impossible though, like I said, probably overlooked).

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

They'd be considered heretics, that's why in FF the option for it is "Heretic Snipers", and things like that. It goes against their honor to use the weapons that the heretics to their religion (humans) use.

Because if you looked into Halo Canon, You'd likely notice no Elite use a human turret. The games aren't perfectly based off this Canon, And this setting in some situations makes the game harder and so they kept it.

I see

And one more question. How come in Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST grunts and brutes use the turrets as well?

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Play Halo 2. Brutes have a habit of using human weapons. There's even a Brute armory stuffed with Human grenades, shotguns, crates, and I think a Rocket Launcher or two.
