Goat was famous. Irie was infamous. Gh0st was FaMaS.

Why can't we disable this in private groups? I don't see the harm.

Probably because they didn't take the time to customize the filter to such an extent. It's easier to just apply it to the whole site.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Becuase certain things you say violate the rules which are part of the mains and private groups. People know ways to "evade" them but Private groups still follow the code of conduct and continued/severe violations of the code of conduct can result in the group being disabled, but this is only done in serious offences or things like groups spamming the mains in a coordinated strike.

You didn't really answer the question, just kinda restated the rules.

OT: I'm not sure, but maybe because of the open-admission groups where anyone can join? You'd have to ask Achronos for the actual reason.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

What he's saying is that private groups have to abide by the same basic guidelines that the CoC and ToU state and actions have been taken on groups before for breaking parts of them. However I don't agree that profanity is something groups have to adhere to. It's probably either a technical limitation from the software the site runs on or a person choice. Either way it's not going to happen.

Edit: screwed up the quote.

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

So you're saying that if it's a:

technical limitation: the limitation will always exist regardless of the webteam upgrading the site

personal preference: the webteam will never change their minds.

?

Key

It's just the preference of the Web Team. They don't want profane words like that on the site.

That's the end of it. Not other reason, as far as I'm concerned.

It could be a pain to remove the profanity filter in groups, not saying it is impossible but it may take a lot of work. So it is the Webteam's choice, which is no, to dedicate time to remove something that censors things that break the code of conduct.

Ooh. I see. Sometimes I feel like Ken likes to show off his knowledge of the rules. But I guess he was right this time.

OT: I'd think it's more of a personal choice than a technical limitation.

Fine, fine. I probably shouldn't have said said never. How about unlikely? And for the record I'm not against it changing, being able to toggle it for the full site is something I wouldn't mind as long as it remained in the off position and had to be enabled and perhaps even controled based on Date of Birth entry. It's not exactly going to keep the youngin's from using it, but it would cover Bungie's ass.
