random people in the community
I wouldn't use this feature for random people that have counter beliefs to my own. I would use it for the people who I (and many others) find consistently aggravating and have hollow opinions that rapidly change upon the input of an authority figure. You know, people like you.

The consequences of an ignore feature have been pretty well outlined by elmicker but I cannot help it but to want one anyway. If the feature was used in extreme moderation by members of the site it would serve its function well.

When I grow up I want to be bitter and spiteful.

"i liked the reality where everything was on fire better"
-legato on remedial chaos theory

If this feature were implement the first person I would ignore would be that Duck duck DEATH jerk.

Stupidity, when sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from magic

So what you're saying is that there's no possibility it will serve its function well?

I don't think the general populace would use it in moderation.

Too predictable.

All I know is that my experience on this site could be greatly improved if I could hide a few select users from appearing in these forums.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Well you and everyone else does not have to worry, I have no plans of going anywhere for the time being.

I find people here aggravating that act rude towards me for no reason. IDK what I have done to make people mad, it has to be more than being active? I am trying to change.

But what I am tired of seeing and makes my blood boil is seeing people telling me things like this, saying I am aggravating, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?

This is really confusing me. I want to be a part of this community but many people here want me to leave for no reason.

*sigh

Maybe I should just stay in the Flood.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

An ignore feature is the antithesis of what a community should be about.

SK15, people who don't like you and make an effort to post as much either here or in PMs are just mad that you can make so many hot topics over and over while they just get ignored. They're jealous, and not to be bothered with. Keep on keepin' on.

Just kick back and relax a little bit bud. Maybe refrain from posting hundreds of times a day and put that effort into 4 or 5 really well thought out posts.

It isn't you personally that people don't enjoy, but the sheer amount of posts that clog up the forums. You do not need to come up with an idea to improve the forums every single day. Perhaps once a month, will all of the great ideas in one thread. You do not need to come up with a cool idea for what you want in the Bnet store every single day either.

Going awhile without getting banned will also help. People get banned for reasons. A few consecutive months of good behavior and even the moderators will start calling you "friend".

Now, I can't speak for everyone here, but that's my two cents.

I am cutting back, I am just tired of seeing these comments becuase I try not to act like a jerk and I definitely don't want to be annoying.

But this has opened my eyes and I should stop posting so much.

But my final say is we don't need this feature and it will cause more problems than it is worth.

how happy is a midget likely to be once you start melting cheese on them?

(O : o)=GTI=W====(o : O)

I feel as though there would be even more repetitiveness around the forums because people would "hide" answers to questions that have been asked numerous times.

I fail to see how it will cause problems, as it only effects an individual users experience on Bungie.net.

How come Bungie can't block sites like meatspin?

From being posted?

According to a thread a while back, it takes a lot of effort to edit the profanity filter. That being said, there is a myriad of shock sites out there, so keeping track of them all is a lost cause and time could be better spent adding more features to the site.

Reach essentially has put the "I" in "Team".

Remember, the enemy's gate is down

Why is this necessary?

Is ignoring the posts of someone they don't like really that hard anyway? Is simply ignoring posts of people they would use this feature on really that difficult?

And would this feature also block people who quote that person? You'll either miss out on others' posts or end up seeing the posts of someone you ignore anyway.

Seems like a feature that would simply be a waste of time to institute, over some people getting upset over the personalities of some other people on this forum.

Since the beginning of this topic, you've said that instead of an ignore feature, people should simply exercise some "self control" and ignore it that way. The issue I have with that is that you yourself clearly cannot; you constantly and consistently respond to people who aggravate you for what you claim to be "no reason" instead of ignoring them, and your post exemplifies what happens when you let people get to you in that way.

In my opinion, you would be one of people who would benefit from using, and subsequently blocking, those people.

What if we could just hide posts instead of ignoring a user. I think that would be a pretty good idea.

My opinion is that, even if you aren't a fan of someone, they still have a voice and should still be able to be heard.

Not everyone should be heard.

Some people just yap at you like an angry Chihuahua, that you just want to kick into a blender.

Not everyone is worth hearing.
