Don't you think profiles should get bios for people who want to write them?

I would like to write a paragraph or two on what kind of person I am, where I'm from and what I'm currently playing (If I'm playing anything).

I just think it would make the forums that little bit more friendly.

Thoughts?

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

You get to tell people whatever you want about yourself in your signature. That's plenty.

Spread the love...

I do understand what you're saying, but adding to many of those features could make this website into a sort of Facebook.

Remember, this was originally made as a place where fans could give their opinions and feedback on games. Not share about their own personal life.

READ IT.

I won the Star. With this on Week 18.

There is an about me/signature thing... that is sufficient enough. Link your Facebook or something if you want weirdos looking at you.

Sure.

Couldn't you link it in your signature or make it your home site?

I definitely don't want Bungie.net to turn into anything like Facebook. Just a small bio telling people who you are. It would be useful for say, someone like Achronos (don't know if that's how you spell it). But I'm sure plenty of people want to know who he is.

I forgot about signatures. I guess that's sort of what I'm thinking about.

That's actually what your signature's for. Notice how when you look at your profile it says "about me" instead of "signature".

Yeah, I had no idea that it was an 'about me'. It wouldn't really encourage confused users to write bios though.

Exactly. Plus we don't need to have paragraphs for a signature.

Actually, the pre-Halo 3 version of Bnet facilitated just this. There was a line at the top for an "overview"/quote, then below that was your location, Bungie games played (you checked ones from a list and it displayed them), other games played, your homepage (which we still have), your instant messenger screennames, and your email address (if you wished).

See here, although you cannot view it in its full glory because it doesn't load the stylesheet.

Achronos's quote used to say, "I know everything, just not all at once."

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

We have The Flood and private groups for a reason. It's so the fans can mingle with the rest of the community, getting to know each other, bonding and such. Bungie doesn't just want us sharing our opinions on their games, they want us to make bnet our internet-home so that when they update the frontpage with news, more people are here to see it. They want us to socialise and make 'friends' so that we have roots in the website, because that type of thing keeps us coming back. So that way more people remain fans of Bungie and buy their games.

The more the community gets to know each other, the longer we stay on the website. Without groups and The Flood this place would a lot emptier. So dismissing this idea like you just did is rather silly.

I have found that the signature feature is adequate for displaying information that is relevant on this site. I keep mine up to date as best I can, although, I don't need to make changes to it very often.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.
