Subject: What's the best way to find out which mod locked my thread?

Basically, I make the best topics ever.

Feedback!
Duardo: This thread is locked for being stupid.
cortana 5 : It's perpetually my time of the month and I'm just grouchy.
Foman: I see absolutely no reason, either theoretical or practical, that this is not a superb idea. Excellent work, my friend.

Oh, and your thread that was locked was asking whether something was religious discrimination or not, and you still felt the need to ask why it was locked?

It was about applying the law. I didn't discuss any religious beliefs. No discussion of religious beliefs is required to talk about whether an action is religious discrimination. Just like posting a news story about a murder isn't discussing or instructing on murder.

I don't know whether a mod disagreed with this, or whether it was the few people who were trying to derail the thread that got it locked.
You have to agree that you were stretching the borders Mike. The topic itself wasn't against the rules, but the replies to it were. The OP was just too much of an incentive to discuss those things, so I'm guessing a mod decided to lock the topic but not ban you because you didn't do anything wrong.

Just PM a mod man. They have a history of recent lockings and the like.

Making a thread about it usually works.

I'm asking a question that's relevant to anyone who has a thread locked and dosen't know who locked it. I'm not asking here why my thread was locked. I'm asking in general, what's the best way to find out who locked a thread.

I was unaware. Can anyone confirm this history feature?

Unless the moderator responds, warns you, or sends you a PM, there is no way to definitively know. If you want to raise the issue with someone, PM a moderator (Master Mod or otherwise) or Achronos.

In any case, if someone wants to know why a thread was locked, knowing specifically one who did it is probably unnecessary.

The mods have told me several times that they aren't expected to be consistent with each other. So one mod might not know why another mod locked my thread.

I made another thread about a similar case awhile ago, and it wasn't locked. In fact, it had a very productive discussion. And I linked it in the thread I made.

The OP's question was WHO, not WHY. It's obvious why.

OT: Yeah, I say Yoozel or bobcast.

Link to thread, OP? $10 says I can tell you.

EDIT: Oh, there it is. My money's on Yoozel. PM him and tell me if I'm right. :)

Perhaps you owe Mouse $10 for beating you to it...

Yeah, well I sat it was TU.

This just makes me think of a new way to make the mods' lives more complicated. Forcing them to input a reason for locking a thread before confirming their actions, which would be sent along with the mod's name to the OP's PM box.

You can always try to raise the issue with a higher-up. If a Master Moderator thinks the locking was unwarranted then they may unlock and bump the thread.

That, or they could just implement a Disembodied Soul notice whenever your thread is locked.

I'm sure DS works in a similar manner as a described, but it depends on the admin function of the forum software the site is using.

yoo•zel- ('yoo-zhul): slang: vb.

Officium quod Fidelitas.

If you do not know the moderator who locked your thread, then you're fairly lucky as they a) did not warn you and b) did not ban you. Regardless, message any moderator and they should in some fashion be able to answer your question.

I just had a thread locked, but I don't know who locked it. I want to PM them to ask for more details, but I don't know who to PM. Can anyone help me?
