I can't aim for -blam!- on anything but my 22 inch monitor. I got a 40" tv and it just was no bueno. The cold thing is legit too.
I'm going to have to disagree with the aiming being the primary necessity for improvement though. That may fly in call of duty where you down people instantly. However, team chemistry and your decision making play a far greater role in halo than your aim does. As long as you can hit something you are fine for the average player. What sets you above average players is how you pick your battles. Focusing on aiming is just a really silly thing to do. You practice it every time you play. You even practice it when you are working on strafing. No real need to single out aiming. It just comes to you over time. Sticking with a comfortable sensitivity is the best thing you can do for your aim. Otherwise, it's pointless to think about it. I didn't get accurate by doing aiming drills. I just have been playing fps games online for 5-6 years.
