Hmmm......................................................... ............................................................. ............................................................. ............................................................. ............................................................. ............................................................. ...................

I think people fail to realize that by modifying Reach to have no bloom, the problems won't be fixed. Yes there wasn't any bloom in Halo 3, but those guns were designed to fire without bloom. Reach guns were MADE to work WITH the bloom. Compare the firing rates of any semi-auto Reach gun with it's Halo 3 counterpart. You'll find that the firing rates of the Reach guns are much higher, thus allowing a skilled player to get a kill with a pistol or DMR waaaaay too quickly. Almost Call of Duty status. 85% bloom is a great compromise to be had in all playlists in my opinion.

ZB kill times are the same as Halo 2s.

Give me one good reason why skilled players should NOT get an advantage...

It gives no one an advantage. It's a completely even playing ground - the better player will just win.

Thus the better player has an advantage over the worse player. That advantage is skill and knowledge. Halo Reach tried to level the playing field between good and bad players and look at how it turned out...

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

It's not spamming if there is no bloom.

its still mashing the trigger as fast as possible with zero thought, which=spamming

Then technically you can spam any weapon, regardless of whether there is bloom or not. Sounds like the OP just wants the skill gap decreased. Instead of letting people shoot exactly where they aim (which takes skill), he wants bloom to randomize the shots as the reticule size increases. A roll of the die takes no school.

i pace my shots and i do constant 5 shots. its a l2p issue for most. gotta get over "spam that trigger as fast as possible

Your k/d isn't that great and you lose most of your games, so no offense but you don't always get 5 shots. The pace vs spam arguement would be absolutely relevant of Reach bloom was consistent but it's random.

The Designated Marksman Rifle is inaccurate at ranges of 10 feet, this doesn't make sense. Then you have the Assault Rifle hich fires more bullets much faster and remains accurate. Bloom as an idea is great, games like Counter Strike have a very good and consistent spread mechanic however it does not make for good gameplay in Reach.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Because there was less spamming with 100% bloom. I guess bad players don't like consistency.

Well see I thought it meant that the better player was catered to over the worse player.

In a sense, maybe they are. But only in the sense that the worse player is no longer catered to. Ya know?

Only a dummy would fire as fast as possible

MLG pro's disagree. Spam the f**kery out of the DMR in close/medium quarters combat.

That's because their panicking lol, they are playing against other pros so taking it easy will not work.

Dude it's been discusses to death, spamming is the only answer for a DMR in close/medium quarters combat. Of course you'd need to pace your shots anywhere outside that distance, but when it comes to tight spots? Spam it, it's the only way.

This.

You couldn't hit every BR shot across a map like you can the DMR. If you were 2 feet in front of somebody then yes, it takes the same amount of time. As for the pistol, the Halo 2 version is far weaker than the Reach pistol.

Yes, you could.

The only thing stopping it for off host players was Halo 2s poor netcode

I Think we should get bloom back not the full random old school bloom but at least 75% bloom or 85% simply because No Bloom is WAY TO EASY WITHOUT BLOOM... KIDS SPAM...THERES NO SKILL INVOLVED ...Plz put 75% or 85% bloom in MLG instead of NO bloom!

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

This is truly false, because the reticle for the BR is much larger than the reticle for the DMR, and this allows the DMR to be far more accurate at longer ranges than the BR without bloom.

Because the size of the reticle totally represented the spread of the weapon...

If there isn't any bloom, then why wouldn't you pull the trigger as fast as possible? If you pace your shots, you're going to die.

it doesnt take skill, you defending button mashing is like defending using a turbo controller on a semi auto rifle meant for single shot

A DMR IS semi-auto -blam!- people need to learn what the hell is going on. In a FPS game, a shot should not be randomized for the fact that casual gamers would get dumped on by higher skilled players.

I believe bloom was introduced due to the sole fact that Bungie KNEW there was going to be no TrueSkill in the game, and thus needed to find a cheap and confusing way to close the skill gap. So why not randomize shots with bloom? It only hurts better people who can keep their reticle centered on their opponent. Plus, any shooter game that relies on a luck factor for 95% of it's precision-weapons battles ruins the concept of competitive gaming.

Bloom = Crap

Only the skilled and longtime fans know this. The casual, less-skilled players support it. Who do you trust?

No, but the size of the reticle dictates the area in which a bullet may end up. A weapon with a smaller reticle will have a higher percentage of landed hits.
