Subject: Would they have oil rigs on other planets in the Halo universe?

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Is it possible for the UNSC to find a habitable planet with oil to drill for?

Really? Do you think UNSC still uses oil despite that 500 years has been progressed?

Dude. Fusion Technology, hydrogen-electric technology, etc says hi.

*NOTE* Warthog uses hydrogen-electric as fuel.
I know this, but hydrogen is hard as hell to get are hands on and oil can be burnt.

Obviously you lack knowledge of the universe...

Hydrogen are most common. It can be found in every body of water because it is made of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen.

Also, hydrogen are found in countless stars, nebula, etc. also in vast space as well.

The Halo 3 remake of Lockout is an Oil Rig.

I was under the assumption that it was a reserch station, but it very well may be used for that too. There are actual confirmed oil rigs on Reach however, as shown in Nightfall. It's also interesting to note that even on Reach, the most developed planet other than Earth still has very isolated sections, and other than by space tether, fuel may not have always been available in the form of hydrogen, with varied types of power sources, such as large wind generators seen in the First level of Reach. Other colonized planets may even be well-developed in concentrated areas, but are hardly explored, as ample resources are present to sustain rather large cities so such a need for baser fuels may not be needed. This is shown in the Halo: Wars level Arcadia. Other colonized planets like Harvest are a mix of both, utilizing local resoures to fit specific needs.
One thing still puzzles me; Why was the Artifact on Harvest not discovered sooner when there is a militay base remarkably close?.

We should know better, because we are better.

I'm sure the UNSC has other uses for oil. I know for a fact that you can make plastic using milk curds and a few extra ingredients so I don't think it would be too hard for the UNSC to come up with an alternative for oil-based plastics.

Am I supposed to write something funny here?

As said before, scorpion probably runs on oil. It doesn't sound like electrical engine and some versions have exhaust pipes, something I haven't seen on 'hogs and 'gooses (Not sure if they should have them though.)

Hmm..no idea.

"but you already knew that, I mean, how couldn't you?

Only when no Human brick is left atop another, shall we be satisfied with your destruction.

Oil is the basis of our entire pharmaceutical industry, as well as the bulk of our industrial chemical industry. It's required for every piece of advanced technology you have in your house, as well as the source of all our plastics.

Its a very valuable resource, I'm sure they would mine for it.

Whether they would burn it or not is debatable, it's very wasteful, but we do it...
