Bobcast is paid in MILF blind dates.

This is probably the most common rule-broken, but I rarely see anyone punished for it. Whose at fault?

Is it the community for not really caring about this rule or not knowing that it should be reported in the first place?

I don't want to really blame the mods since they can't be everywhere at once and rely on the report queue.

Thanks in advance.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

Because this.

Usually when I see people breaking the rule, it is usually a pretty minor offense.

A while ago I had the prefix of "Exalted" until I received a warning for being a jerk. It's not like I regret anything, I still dislike that person, but the rule is being enforced and that is a good thing.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

I think this is meant to be a catch all for the worst cases. They aren't going to ban somebody for not treating everyone as their best friend, but the rule allows the mods to ban somebody for abuse.

Could it be enforced more, maybe, but as long as they deal with the worst cases it won't be a huge problem.

Maybe that's why. You can't really tell if someone's been warned compared to "This user has been blacklisted".

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

The rule was probably just in place for when it gets to the point of trolling or flaming. I don't see why we all have to be super nice to each other all of the time.

Last I checked, I respect all members.

I agree that everyone should work on this rule. As is, I think the only two times it's really a problem is if one member is being aggressive to a non-aggressive member or if both member are being overly aggressive.

In a case where two members show minor disrespect to each other, it only takes a single guy to step in and try to mend the situation, where a warning or ban might only further agitate them.

That's fine if you don't want to be super nice all the time. However, it doesn't explain why you rarely see the collapsed box when it is at flamewar levels.

Not enough people report it I suppose. If it is getting out of hand I usually report it, but obviously not everyone does.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

I've always been a fan of earning respect. You should be kind to everyone from the get-go, but if they give you reason or you must reveal their idiocy to them as they are to blind to see it, then that is something else entirely.

Though if they have done nothing legitimate to provoke you, and you're a dick... Well then, you're just a dick.

Sometimes I slip up on all accounts, and I've paid for it. I'm nice to people who deserve it, I respect people who earn it, and I'm a dick to those who ask for it.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

-blam!- you!

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

It's a balance between respect, dorm room shenanigans, civility and horseplay. Outright nastiness, cruelty and harassment? I don't like it and respond accordingly.

Most likely. After all, we are completely omnipotent and supremely knowledgeable until we open our eyes to the world.

Some people are idiots and deserve to be told so. That, however regrettably, (almost verbatim) is against the rules. And I accept any punishment I might receive for upholding my primary statement.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I don't know many people who are "idiots", I do know some people who act like pricks though for no reason.

I've been banned for not "respecting your fellow members" for basically telling burritosenior to -blam!- off, even though he started the argument in the first place (but that's getting into the whole member title argument).

I've also been banned for not "respecting your fellow members" when I called a Mythic member... well... a kiss-ass Mythic member.

But how many Mythic members do you see get banned for flaming? becuase I see it all the time.

Edited. Would like to keep my posting privileges a bit longer. However, I still stand by the below paragraph.

Mods either avoid punishing Mythics at all in any given circumstances, or they target them specifically. There's really no mod who's "in-between".

*snip of personal attacks*

You do know that (for no real or apparent reason) you are using this thread to vent your personal dislike of fellow members, which is EXACTLY the kind of thing (the singling out and the personal insults) that got you banned before and will likely get you banned again?

Think about that for..... oh, a minute or so and then take my advice. Click on the edit button and do the civil thing.
