Subject: Could I Have A List Of Employees/Ninja's That Don't Use PMs?

Spread the love...

Because several time's I've PMed an Employee or a Ninja and I never get back from them. I want to know if this is because they hate me or because they just don't keep up with their inbox any more.

So it would be really helpful to make a list that I can check for future use so I can just avoid PMing people that I already know aren't going to reply.

So please post if you don't read messages.

EDIT-Also, I'm wondering, are Ninjas/Employees allowed to block people?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Almost every employee, mod should PM you back. But remember, you are not the only one who PMs them. :p

But lots of them don't. I mean, I understand how sometimes they would't reply (I have sent pretty stupid PMs in he past...) but I sometimes send really serious ones and never get a reply.

If they haven't responded yet it's probably because your PM wasn't that important. Just try asking your question to someone else or posting it to the correct forum.

They rarely block people. Because while a user may be annoying, eventually they may bring up a very good point.

And mods usually don't respond to things like "Hows the weather?"

Though if a mod wants to talk to me about the weather i'm all ears.

You're either dead or judged.

They probably have a lot going for them in their inbox. If you want a question answered though there are some people around here who can answer it.

If it is related to the innards of the company, then a employee probably won't tell you. They're so secretive.

Imagine getting 30 - 100s of PMs daily. You'd never be able to reply to them all and be a productive moderator or person.

Pretty much.

For example, I don't reply to;

1) Join my group requests.
2) Undo/repeal my warning and/or 3-7 day ban.
3) Give me my title back.
4) Will I get banned, will you sanction, can I get your pre-approval, if I were to make a thread about ______?
5) Does this dress make my ass look fat?

There are no good/safe/proper answers to any of those questions and (in most cases) my reply will only tend to piss someone off more than they already are.

He didn't mention the weather one so he is going to get a PM.

But I thought you could appeal bans that are 7 days long?

Would someone you banned have to talk with Urk then?

I took my 7 day without complaining.

That reminds me.

6) Will you appeal/reverse/lessen my ban (permanent or otherwise) that came from another Master Forum Ninja who I don't want to talk to, but figured that I could get one ninja to over-ride/countermand/undermine the other?

Can I ask what you would do for a Klondike bar?

edit:I am asking about asking, so I am technically not asking or imposing the question asked, yet.

I feel like being a Ninja is harder than it seems, with all these PMs you guys must get. It'd be pretty annoying in my opinion.

I've sent messages looking for the feedback of a moderator or employee, they've replied, although usually a day or two after the message has been sent.

You might want to double check what your question (if it's reasonable, if the person could answer it, if it's already been asked and if you could ask anyone the question) and the format it's written in.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Tell everyone about it then! You know I'm insecure about my butt, you cruel bastard...

Why not number 4?

I can understand not replying to messages that ask you to 'pre-approve' threads, but is someone asking if they're going to get banned for a thread that's in a 'grey' area so bad?

Imagine a user asks Ninja 1 if he can make a thread. Ninja 1 thinks it doesn't qualify as spam (which is a very broad topic), and so the user makes the thread. Ninja 2 sees the thread, but he believes it is spam. He bans the user. The user then complains to Ninja 2, saying that Ninja 1 approved of the thread.

This causes a lot of confusion and awkwardness. Better to just avoid it overall.

Because a PM description almost never matches the reality and/or since the resulting discussion/reaction can't be forseen, any "yes" answer is too risky.

People should read the rules for themselves, and if they think that a subject/topic is "risky, but worth the risk" then don't complain if the consequences are negative. Otherwise, find a better place to post your dream topic.

Well using common sense the user in the first place should know that the mod in question isn't in charge of every moderating decision on the website. After all, they still chose to post the topic.

But I don't see what's wrong with asking just how far into the grey area and towards to 'ban' side you might be wandering.

@Recon: Fair enough then.

General rule of thumb: If the topic you're posting has something to do with the forum you're posting it in, it's usually okay to post it there.
