Subject: MLG help

Posted by: Sentox6
As silly as I'm sure this sounds to better players, my biggest issue in MLG is I really just don't know what to do. I'm not being facetious, I understand the objectives of the gametypes, but in terms of optimal map positioning and knowing when and where to push, I struggle a lot. I generally end up just mindlessly wandering into engagements.
Are you paying attention to callouts and where your teammates are? Have you learned when and where all of the power weapons/powerups come up?

I know all that, but I have a bigger problem I suck so that needs to be worked on.

You fix one thing at a time. You don't just suddenly become better.

Tell me about it. I'm a good support player so I'll stick to that and work on the other things too.

Don't limit yourself to being just a support player. That's the easy way out. Get some people on your list who regularly search MLG and search as a full party. Just being a support player all the time doesn't really help you improve.

Wow thanks, I do get some kills but I play the objective more.

You're right. I'm gonna snatch the snipe from now on I don't care if anyone complains. I usually let it go for my teammates but not anymore.

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

I guess I don't really do much with them. I hear them, of course, but then I just go and do my own thing, if I'm honest. I don't really make an effort to respond to them and clean up kills.

and where your teammates are?
I do keep a fairly good mental map of my teammates locations (imho), but again I'm probably too passive with the information.

Have you learned when and where all of the power weapons/powerups come up?
For the most part, although again I don't really contest them. I always assume my teammates will be better with the weapons, but then again I should be trying to help secure them. Plus most of the time I'm on respawn and stuck in my base, so it seems all very irrelevant.

Hmmm. Quite a lot to work on when I look at it that way.
