Subject: "You've been quoted" alert feature proposal.

I think it's a good idea, but it would be nice if it did have an on/off option.

Herp
Derp.

It needs an on/off option, if you are someone who gets quoted(like Achronos) that could end up being annoying.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

I think that this is an excellent idea. It's always nice to have a way to keep track of your conversations better.

I'll have to say no. Reason is because I would get to many when I become active again.

Settle down, you're probably not that popular.

Why are you reading my signature? Who actually opens these things and reads them!

And as always, SEND ME A PM. Please. Or really bad things will happen to you.

I wouldn't mind it. Mods might feel differently.

An alternative would be the ability to "Subscribe" to a thread and you can get an alert every time it updates.

I said earlier they should include an on/off switch for people that get quoted a lot. Employees, ninjas, spartain ken, etc.

But for the average user I think this would be helpful.

Café

I think it would be quite a useful feature, but it would need to have an on/off option, as some members may find it quite irritating to be bombarded with notifications (in particular  moderators and employees).

Would you get an alert for every new post? Perhaps an alert to notify you that there have been updates since you last visited the thread, but an alert every time a user posts seems rather excessive.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I wouldn't mind if it is automatically disabled and you're prompted to enable it when you sign in the first time you sign in after the update.

I wouldn't use it, but if it could be disabled I wouldn't mind it because it wouldn't bother me.

The amount of people that read the op of a thread and nothing else is making me want to an hero

Do you know what would be a good idea? If this feature were optional, and could be disabled.

  • 12.13.2011 2:57 PM PDT

I know that feel. brb making contribution

I don't like the idea of notifications. Your notification box usually ends up flooding up in other sites.

  • 12.13.2011 3:08 PM PDT

oh trolled i wouldnt do that

i would get so pissed if i got a notification every time a normie quoted me

  • 12.13.2011 3:14 PM PDT

That would be cool, however I'm not sure how responsive it would be. It takes about 3 minutes more for my computer to receive a notification than my iPod.

  • 12.13.2011 3:15 PM PDT

Maybe something like what Shi Options has. This wouldn't be too bad, would it?

I'm running the same script. How did you do that?

  • 12.13.2011 3:33 PM PDT

It's not an actual notification. I just edited the notification using basic HTML knowledge. :P

Are you running Chrome?

Cortana 5 is a carbon-based lifeform that frequently visits these forums, currently residing in the United States. Practically every male on the site responds to her posts.

The Joyeuse IP Formula

Personally, I wouldn't use it.

But the logistics of creating a quote system that makes quotes track-able and how to convey that data to the user aside...

I don't see why not. I wouldn't want a pop up every time I'm quoted, but instead I'd like to have a page (kind of like my most recent posts) to go to that shows my recent interactions.

Sure, as long as I can turn it off - because I would.

  • 12.13.2011 3:50 PM PDT

Whoops, forgot about this thread.

Anyway, next time you get a PM, (or you can do this now for fun, if you want), right click on something, then go to "Inspect Element". It'll bring up a real-time HTML/CSS editor that you can utilize. It's good for stuff like this, but bad because you can't trust PM screenshots anymore.
