Meh... that's just a different more complicated way to photoshop.

No, but I can make it look like I've gotten a PM from anyone.

When I grow up I want to be bitter and spiteful.

I would like an alert any time the words "duck" or "death" are posted anywhere on these boards.

@Geegs30

If you can turn it on and off, sure. Plenty of people including myself wouldn't mind a notification system here.

Shameless self-post here

I'm actually editing the text, not just making it look like there's fake text there. The text is actually there, it just wasn't sent to me. Basically, yes, it's a cool photoshop, except it's much easier to believe because I might as well have gotten the PM.

I only see that making a difference if you just so happen to know and be friends with another B.net regular and invite him over.

Oh hey there

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

Every time the quote notification has been suggested I have been for it.

I am again, however it should be toggleable.

That's just vain.

The feature sounds good as long as it can be toggled on or off. It would be nice to have an array of features and then have the option of using them.

Actually, it's bad. Over the summer, Evil Otto told me something (I forgot what it was about, but it was srs bsns to the Reach forum), and they thought my screenshot was fake. Then Evil Otto came into the thread and said it was fake, so I was in quite the pickle (the PM wasn't fake). Thankfully, he caught the error and corrected himself, but still; if I ever try to post something from an Employee or a Ninja, some people might think it's fake. Bad.

Anyway, yeah, I'm totally for this idea.

Huh? What? I'm confused, how could a "real" screenshot and this fake message business have to do with what we were talking about? You're for the trickery that I offered as the only way to fool someone with this? I'm just confused...

A 24 to 48 hour deadline on which the notification disapears. Also all quotes that are similar shall be considered as one and when, you open it it will give you the breakdown.

In the past week this forum has been filled with new feature ideas, title and avatar ideas, private group ideas, etc. I figured now would be a good time to propose another idea that I first saw over on the http://www.absolutepunk.net forums.

The forums here are extremely fast during peak times and especially when Bungie releases a new game. The Flood and Reach forums get heavy traffic almost every day, and many times I find myself in the middle of a conversation only to be ignored or forgotten. The "you've been quoted" notification would be placed next to the inbox envelope, like so (ignore the horrendous MS paint job, you get the point), and would lessen the occurrence of these types of situations.

Every time your post gets quoted and submitted (in other words, someone responds to something you say), a notification is added under your username with a link to the thread, preferably to the post. I'm not sure how this would work on the web team's side, but that way would be the most user friendly.

Thoughts?

I like this idea. When I'm in a debate I can still keep browsing threads until someone answers me back.

To infinity, and beyond!
UNSC Leviathan

Wow, there really are a lot of threads concerning updates. My thread is pretty much useless

OT: I would like to be notified of when I get quoted, and when someone actually says my name in a post.

I'm awesome...No seriously I am.

This idea has actually been proposed before and I'm all for it. I can't keep track of all the topics I've posted in and this would definitely help.

Yea, the same thing happens to me too. I find myself going into a thread, talking to some people and then leaving and forgetting to save the thread. therefore I don't know that people are replying and even if I knew they were, I wouldn't know what thread they are posting in.
