Subject: Aftermath of the Covenant

I am a Halo Enthusiest that loves to talk about the universe. Though I may not be the best multiplayer, I play for the fun and the unforgettable moments. If you play for a good time and for a little competition, then im your guy.

After the event's of Halo 3 and during the time of the novel Grasslands, the covenant species were mostly split apart either surviving with their own races, or still loyal to their superiors, or they simply disappeared. The big question is which Covenant species will adapt and survive the aftermath and which is the most self sustainable? If you read Grasslands, you can see the Sangheili are not the first pick on this. So put some thought into the answer.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

All of the client races other than the Sangheili and San 'Shyuum are going to be fine since they really didn't depend on the covenant much. Lekgolo and Kig-yar had space travel before being in the covenant not to mention they didn't care for it. Unggoy loved being in the covenant so much due to being off their cold world but will be fine nontheless and they didn't like the covenant either.

The Jiralhanae weren't in the covenant for even 60 years so the religious fact won't harm them. The only downside for them is that they are going to be stuck on whatever planets they have since there are limited ships.

What about the Yanme'e? You did a great job at explaining most of the covenant but what about them? You also did not mention the Huragok but they are not technically covenant since the Forerunner's made them. But we know that the Huragok are quite survivable on their own. Also where do you think they ran off to? Back to their assigned Installations? Or what? If you could explain this stuff it would really mean alot. Thanks. So many questions so little time...

The Yanme'e will be just fine since they can make their own ships also. The covenant failing will only affect San 'Shyuum, sangheili and the jiralhanae (slightly). The Engineers are interesting seeing as they shouldn't have ran away since there are now plenty of things to fix. I personally think they actually be thinking for themselves and evolving, but that is just me.

Grey summed it up pretty well. I believe though that in Glasslands it is speculated that San 'Shyuum took a majority of the Huragok and receded to an unknown part of the Galaxy.

As for ships, most of the client species had already developed space faring craft before they met the Covenant, so they'll be alright. The Elites did too, but I assume those designs are lost because of their time spent with the Prophets being in control of the scientific aspect of the Covenant.

It's hard to say what'll happen. If anything, I assume the other species are still trying to sort out the Great Schism, as it's clear there were splits among Grunts, Hunters, and maybe some of the other races as well.
