Is there any way to expand the amount of time that Phase 4 lasts? If not, can you require multiple objectives to be captured before a phase ends? I've ran into a place where I want to do more with my invasion map, but I can't due to those limitations.


unfortunately, you cannot extend the time limit of Phase 4, as it only exists in theory.

And you can only have one objective per phase. For phase 4, the only thing you can do is follow up an objective from phase 3. For instance, if you destroy something with Assault in phase 3, you can have the structure disappear in phase 4 and you can make debris appear in its place. The effect is short-lived, however, because phase 4 ends the game.

I'm having trouble with Invasion spawning
I followed many youtube videos but still i can't work out the "switch" sides part, you know where blue who attacked first becomes defenders. can anyone help?

You should be able to get a fairly circular structure using either small or large circular ramps or Dishes from the platforms category. I actually don't know the exact coordinates you'd need to move each piece but it shouldn't be over 10 degrees.

I advise against building spheres and similar structures though, as they are very dense and it could affect the framerate of your map.

I think I might need a little more information from you to troubleshoot this question in-depth.

You should have two sets of respawn zones per round. One is for Spartans (this is TEAM COLOR "RED") and the other is Elites (TEAM COLOR "BLUE"). All of your spawns need to be labeled for the appropriate team, or else they wont be able to spawn there.

Have you tested your map with other players? You aren't going to switch sides if you're testing it alone in custom games.

How exactly do you work fireteam spawning in Invasion, as well as spawning in general? I know you use hill markers, and I have working spawns, but I don't feel they are very effecient.

Hmm...

I would have to actually look at your map to be able to help you in-depth. However, in this thread I can still share some basic advice, so let me do that.

Try to give each fireteam at least two spawns per phase--unless they are spawning in a protected area or on elevated terrain (where just one would be sufficient). Also, don't spread them too far apart from each other. They should be close enough so that you can see their waypoints and you can help them teamshoot (should spawn camping become an issue).

If you're worried that your spawns aren't good, then myself or another good forger would have to look over it sometime to decide. Try and get a few playtests on it and then watch the film in theater. If it looks like people are spawning in bad places or aren't finding the action quick enough, they might need adjusting.

How do you assign a hill marker to a fireteam, as well as make one appear in a later phase? I can make it appear later, but it seems to negate the ability to use fire teams and causes it to work as a community spawn.

On your hill marker, you need to adjust spawn sequence under advanced properties:

Fireteam 1 = Spawn Sequence 0
Fireteam 2 = Spawn Sequence 1
Fireteam 3 = Spawn Sequence 2
Community Spawn = Spawn Sequence 3+

The label for phase one is INV_RES_P1. P2 and P3 correspond to their respective phases.

Once phase one is over, all hill markers labeled INV_RES_P1 will become inactive/unusable. Each phase needs a new set of hill markers with the appropriate INV_RES_Px label.

Also, don't forget to give them a Team Color!

Off Topic: Honestly, team color shouldn't be needed, as Spartans and Elites should both allow custom colors, instead of being limited to red and blue. It's really not hard to differentiate between an elite and a spartan.

If you want you can actually force color both teams. I know Goat's using Black for his ODST map.
