If you consider the VGA's anywhere close to 'official' or 'credible' then your a bit out of the loop, because they are far from either.

Also, they've never been on the Halo side anyway, remember when Bioshock beat Halo 3? Yeah...

Dear Bungie,
If you where a woman i would marry you.

When has the VGAs ever mattered? Halo fans will still buy halo games. I definitely will.

I am a hardcore fan that knows a lot about bungie and enjoys shooters, rpgs, and strategy games. I also enjoy fast food. =) Bungie Rocks, AOS>

Ok you say the Halo series is dying meanwhile it hasnt come out with a major title for a few years. As soon as halo 4 comes out it will most likely pick right back up again.

Exactly. That is why it lost, because you refuse to support your favorite game. People are finding more interesting things to occupy their time it would seem.

Halo lost a chunk of its fanbase with Reach. It's an undeniable fact, Reach has probably been their least popular game. Halo 4 is going to be the make or break for the series, if they don't pull it back together, Halo isn't going anywhere.
And I don't know that Halo 4 was eligible for the award.

Halo 4 is not my favorite game. I like Bungie's Halo, not this crap that 343i has been commissioned to churn out to make MS more money. I won't support the beating of a dead horse.

On the other hand, I am legitimately excited for Mass Effect 3. Bioware is a great group of passionate people who put their heart and souls into this universe they've created.

The best part? They're stopping at ME3.

Me: Im going to hell...

Look at the pre-order charts. Halo 4, a game that has a single trailer, no gameplay, no info, and comes out a year from now, has a large portion of pre-orders already. By large portion I mean 140,000. That is more than a third of Mass Effect 3's pre-orders, which comes out very soon.

Halo 4 just does not have enough marketing or advertising behind it yet. I bet before Halo 4 comes out it will have more pre-orders than mass effect 3 has first-month sales.

Lol first of all, Bioware admitted that they would love to do more ME installments outside of the Shephard saga, so long as they have a good story to tell (which = "we are eventually going to make more ME games").

Second of all, ME3 deserved to win Most Anticipated for multiple reasons:
1) More information has been released for ME3, including trailers and gameplay.
2) Nothing is known about Halo 4.
3) Halo 4 has to prove that after 5-7 Halo games, the series still has compelling stories to tell, and gameplay to improve. Therefore, general gamers are a lot more skeptical about Halo 4 than they are about a game like ME3.

I really don't care about what Halo 4 is trying to prove. I would actually say that "general" gamers actually only see the word "Halo" and get excited like the lemming consumers they have a tendency to be.

As for Bioware's comment about Mass Effect games outside of Shepard's story, I'll look that up. It would be interesting to see what they could do without the personalized character of Shepard.

But, Bioware's situation is not like Bungie's situation with Microsoft. Bioware had the liberty to work on their own IPs, and nobody is taking their IPs away and giving them to a branch of EA to churn out milked out sequels.

Well considering Halo 4 has not had much Material Released. I'm not Surprised Mass Effect Three took the cake on this one. I mean they have Multiple Traliers, Ad's, Interviews and a ton of that Stuff...What have we seen from Halo 4 in Comparison? Exactly my Point

As for Halo Dying, This is entirely my Opinion. But Microsoft and 343i are just going to milk the game for all its worth, The Halo games died to me when bungie passed on the IP. I care not for the Reclaimer Trilogy. I care not for John's Story I do not share this "John-117 is Badass and anybody that Dislikes John are heretics!!!" Mentality. I'm not all pleased with the latest book either. But that is just my Opinion

Well after the Halo: Reach fiasco, it's not hard to believe that the Halo name has lost some of its credibility as a gaming giant.

I have to disagree, I think that this is a slightly uneducated view.

343 have made fantastic additions to the Halo lore - Evolutions, Cryptum and the CEA Terminals demonstrate just how well they're doing with the storyline. The Forerunner Trilogy is definitely pushing Halo towards an area close to 'hard' sci-fi and it's about time something like this happened because Bungie always kept their storylines extremely simplistic (albeit ODST, which was extremely well-structured with the juxtaposition of the main story and Sadie's Story).

It's not beating a dead horse at all. Bungie themselves considered making Halo 4, but ultimately decided that it would come with a lot of baggage and wouldn't be practical as their final game. They also had concept art drawn up by Isaac Hannaford of a Forerunner Promethean. The idea of Halo 4 has been around for a long time, Halo 3 set up about a dozen loose ends leading to Halo 4, like the fact Mendicant Bias says he's sending John to the Forerunners, Gravemind states that he will return and the destruction of Installation 04B isn't the end of him, the Flood are still out there, the Halos are still primed and ready to fire (etc).

We've not even seen anything solid about Halo 4 yet, but we know that the novels are tying in with the Reclaimer Trilogy which is another thing Bungie never did (until Reach, and look how that turned out, and then 343 actually fixed the holes).

I see no legitimate argument against 343 as a company. They're a group of talented individuals from companies that have worked on many different franchises - Halo, Metal gear, Mass Effect, Metroid etc. I couldn't give a flying toss if the series is milked, as long as the products are of a good quality and we get an excellent storyline that keeps the fundimental core of Halo then I am perfectly satisfied.

Also, Bioware have said that ME3 is the end of the TRILOGY, it's not the last game they're doing for the series.

Agreed.

Im not that guy that says "who cares" its sad that halo 4 has a little content.
Halo has the deepest plot i ever had...It has a very very long story that describes a great war...It has huge amount of heroism, bravery, epicness and sadness to the fallen (forerunners).

Zealot much?

As if halo didn't already have issues with the UNSC not being as advanced as they should be, the covenant "not using plasma", dozens of retcons, spartan numbers being F'ed up, and don't forget halo reach.

You have alot of nerve to suggest that bungie's halo is perfect in light of all the flaws it has. And i love how you are judging 343 when they don't have anything to judge right now.

lolwut?

343 is continuing the storyline. Not making these games for money. They love Halo and want Chief's story to continue. Not to mention they have added great lore with the addition of Evolutions and, especially, Cryptum. Bungie showed with Reach that they care nothing for the story. They completely disregarded the Fall of Reach and 343 were the ones that had to try and fix the mistakes that Bungie did in Reach.

I'm not saying 343 will produce "teh best Haloz gaemes evarz." But, they were more true to Reach's story with one map pack then Bungie's entire Reach campaign.
