I have played a few of the Red Faction games and like their destructible environments, I was wondering if there was anything in the works to make the Halo environments so structures can be destroyed in a like fashion.
If there is not anything currently planned I would like to formally request destructible environments as I think it would make multi player matches much more interesting.

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

Sorry, we don't have the Frostbite2 engine.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

People would complain that it's unbalanced. Which is why we can't have nice things.

  • 12.13.2011 1:21 PM PDT

The people that complain don't even understand that term

e.g: 'Armour Lock is like so -blam!- a guy used it once to save himself because that's what it is meant to do' 'Why is it bad?' 'Because it is so totally unbalanced'

That's not an argument anyone who says stuff like that should just stop playing and leave

"Don't mistake your rank and number for superiority.

I have thought for some time now about more games incorporating destructible environments like Red Faction and Battlefield do, and personally, I would love it.

Sure all the fan boys would say those games were coping RF and BF but I look at it as step toward game evolution.

A lot of people complained when Reach brought classes, not that I was a big fan of them, but certain things become commonplace in elements of games like aim assist for gameplay or realism for environments. Maybe destruction could be one of them.

As much as I love destructible environments in Battlefield, I can't say I'd want them in Halo. Mostly because I hate change. =)

Signatures are for squares.

Halo 2 experimented with destruction, but most of that never carried over into Halo 3.

Remember Zanzibar in Halo 2? You could destroy large chunks of concrete in the building, and even large sections of cover that were on the outside of the base. There was a couple other areas with destructible environments as well.

Hopefully Halo 4 sees some kinda of destruction.

Bungie.

I would like that, well not full out like Battlefield, but instead of shooting a tank (which beats everything) at a concrete wall and getting a black 2D impact crater, actually have a chunk blown out of the wall.

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Frankie confirmed that Halo 4 will have some destructible environment. Just throwing a hat here.

That's what they said about Halo 2. Then we got those breakable bits of cover in the Old Mombasa mission and that was IT FOR THE WHOLE GAME.

Try Metropolis. That map has heaps of destrutibility
