In "The Pillar of Autumn" the final encounter before the using the MAC cannon pits you against an elite Field Marshal and a team of elite Zealots. The Field Marshal is armed with a fuel rod gun and is quite formidable but did you enjoy the encounter thoroughly or do you feel it could have been improved upon?
I personally think halo should be braver when it comes to boss battles. Remember honour guards from Halo 2? If so you know how epic they were. It would have been awesome to see a pair or team of honour guard ultras acting as bodyguards to the Field Marshal, considering how supremely important he would have been being the highest commanding officer on the field. Reach of course has its own more elaborate versions of elite armour seen in previous games so it would have been spectacular to see honour guards return. But perhaps they have too much of a ceremonious role? Perhaps elite bodyguards, a new variant alongside generals and field marshals. The field marshal himself, being such an important leader, could have perhaps wielded dual energy swords. I know everyone goes crazy about dual swords but picture the field marshal discarding his frg after you have killed all his fellow elites and charging straight towards you with two energy swords in his hands. Epic stuff.
So what are your opinions? Do boss battles need a little more "epicness" or do you think the encounter was definitely done well enough?
