hey, man. i've got this team slayer / btb map that i started forever ago. it's basically 2 two-story bases adjacent to eachother and a tower in the middle. the bottom levels are just above water-level (entire thing hangs off a cliff. was aiming for some kinda water treatment facility feel.) a slim walk-way connects the bottom level with docks on each side. i hoped very ideal for epic strafing matches. at the center of the bottom level is a grav lift to shoot you up the tower. the bases are pretty cool. i think they have an N64 goldeneye feel to them.
mid- level, there's a lot more ground to get accross on but a hole (mote-like) around the tower. i actually hoped to have some vehicle action there. ghosts, at the least. just for darting accross safely, really. driving them into the pit to shoot them up the lift was pretty fun, too. xD
the problem is, i'm not entirely happy with the space between the 2 bases here. also, i've never been able to come up with another cool room lay-out for the top floor of the bases. :/ i intended each base to have a sniper rifle up top and a nice in and out path for snipers to creep around on.
i was aiming to make a fun, versatile btb map that was all about symetry, giving either team the same odds of doing well and also allowing lots of styles of game play to be advantageous in different areas. the bases' bottom floors really had a good feel to them, with multiple ways of moving through, in and out of them. i figured king of the hill and capture the flag would be really good, having the bases being used to their potential.
if this sounds like something you're into, i'd love to see some ideas. maybe go back and fourth with some things. i'll put it in my fileshare.
