Let me run this down real quick..
1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - A new game that draws out thousands and thousands of casuals just because of the name alone. Holiday season does not help as well.
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops - For those that don't have MW3 due to their budget not reaching the limit, they go for the latest title. Plus, an extra prestige token for MW3 does not hurt in the future for those who have both games.
3. Skyrim - Brand new single player game around the holiday season. Sharing your arrow to the knee and dragon killing stories is more fun on Xbox Live Party.
4. Battlefield 3 - Brand new game around the holiday season that's competing with the #1 game at the moment in FPS of the Year. Not much of a surprise.
5. FIFA 12 - This is where it gets to me, but I'm also not to surprised as well. Soccer, for those of you who don't know anything outside of the Halo Universe, is the world's most popular sport. If this chart is for world wide, I see why it's above Halo: Reach and Gears. If it's for America alone, then something really had to go down in the series to make it a big name. I wouldn't know, since I'm not a FIFA player..
6. Modern Warfare 2 - Can anyone say recap? I forgot all of the crucial details that happened in MW and MW2. How was I to play MW3 without a memory booster? A few online plays wouldn't hurt as well, that way I can compare the two games in more descriptive detail.
7. Halo: Reach - A game that's been out for longer than a year on my Top 10 chart? I don't see why so many people are complaining.
8. Gears of War 3 - At least it's Gears and not WWE '12.. That'd really kill the whole mood around here.
