Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Yes. Not a lot.

Hmmm, I'm not sure. I don't think anything too important. I only read the revised version of the Fall of Reach and that was a long time ago. Plus, now with Halo: Reach's campaign that disregarded canon and 343 trying to cover the mistakes/breaks/etc...who knows what is actually canon anymore. Sorry.

From what I remember, it went in and changed certain details, and added some extra information at the very end of the book.

As for what's canon? Halo Reach, the books, it's all still canon. Don't see the issue as 343 clearly sees it that way or else they'd declare Reach non-canon or do data drops that point at it being a faulty or completely false recreation. Which they didn't.

Yeah, they did a new version of them all. The Fall of Reach unfortunately went to press with the first printing of the original versions text where there were a fair number of misspellings and date errors, to the rereleased that AGAIN after the other two came out. This latest version of The Fall of Reach can be differentiated because right under the title it says "Definitive Edition" in a little blue oval unlike the screwed up rerelease.

All three new books have addendum at the back that give more info to set up future stories and games in the Halo universe and to also try to reconcile some of the contradictions that the Reach game seemed to have brought about and a few other lingering ones that have been there as well. Also a few lines of dialogue in The Fall of Reach were altered when Halsey is addressing the Spartans in an attempt to not contradict the Reach game's plot point of the Covenant's early stealth incursion onto Reach. I believe First Strike also had a few lines changed relating to the Brutes and some of the canon arguments that they have caused.
