Subject: Regular Members Get Banned While Identical Mythic Doesn't?

I've gotten in trouble a few times for things normal members get away with all the time.

The thing is? When a member gets warned, you don't see the warning. When a member gets banned, their post is gone so you don't see that they were banned. You don't even know they exist most of the time then.

When a Mythic Member is banned, to a community forum regular it becomes more common knowledge than random members because Mythic Members tend to gravitate around here and a lot of us are familiar with each other.

EDIT: The only real way to prove or disprove either theory is to experiment. Does anyone want to offer their Mythic(ness?) for the chopping block? :P

I'm no Mythic but I'll risk it.

This boy be right.

I also see mods (Hey, Recon) that post things that would probably warrant a warning to a user.

lol, you obviously missed the part where Recon banned himself for a week

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

I doubt that the moderators would take a title into consideration of a ban.

I have noticed that to. Glad it is not just me who sees it that way.

I was dropped down to Legendary following a blanket ban in a thread. We aren't completely untouchable. And yes, angry message was sent.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

Well, this settles it. I'll have to get Mythic.

I don't think that is why you were dropped down. Odds are if you were dropped it would have been to member.

The ban was 3 years ago, and was after 3 clean years. I think it was only down to legendary.

Matt - Like a G Pix, like a, like a G Pix....

No offense to anyone, but, do titles even matter? I mean, there are people and there are colors that don't mean anything(Except Gold and Orange). Just because more members, like myself, get banned more than Legendary and Mythic members do, doesn't mean the Mods have anything against regular members. Titles are just used so that if someone says, "I've been here longer than you!" and the other person says, "No, I've been here longer than you and I've been part of the community more than you as well!", then you can just look at their titles and BAM! You have your answer. Just my 50 cents.

As a Mythic Member, I kind of agree.

I've been banned for saying things as a Member that I haven't been banned for as a Mythic.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

I'd like to think that if I'm given the benefit of the doubt in a questionable situation, its because of my track record and not my title bar.

You're definitely wrong OP. I would know from personal experience, my last ban stemmed from a thread where like 20 mythic members all got banned lol.

There is no favoritism when it comes to moderation (or at least it doesn't seem like it.) Just because you have a title does not mean you're immune to the rules.

Again, I would know from experience.

Well, this is kind of true, but I guess it depends on the moderator in question.

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

Based on a mod's point of view.

Different mods, different points of views. Mythics aren't safe.

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

TRILBY:
Jesus, Harry! You guys really
screwed the pooch last night.
Please tell me how I can look at
this, that it's not a total pooch-
screw.

HARRY:
Total is a strong word--

GIB:
There are degrees of totality.

FAISIL:
It's a scale really, with
"perfect mission" on one end and
"total pooch-screw" on the other
and we're more about here--

TRILBY:
Faisil. You're new on Harry's
team, aren't you?

FAISIL;
Yes.

TRILBY:
So what makes you think that the
slack I cut him in any way
translates to you?!

FAISIL:
Sorry, sir.

I've banned mythic members. Interestingly, they weren't mythic after that. Perhaps that's why it seems like it never happens?
