Subject: Ever join a group...

+1 for you good sir.

And you end up being the only one posting in it? After x amount of members join, you're still the only one posting?

I personally get disappointed. All these people join, but NO ONE posts anything. Doesn't make sense.

Yeah. Cafe has 258 Members, and about 10-20 frequent our forums.

I join groups to see what threads are about then I leave them.

I have seen this happen far too often. Groups rise and then fall. Few groups stay popular and active in the long run.

It can be considerably hard to really get a group going nowadays. Back during the Halo 3 times it was much easier.

Maybe I really should stop in more often and say "hi".

Groups simply dont have the exposure for them to retain their activity. That is why I am not involved with them anymore.

I've yet to be in a group that lasted over a year.

  • 12.15.2011 8:01 PM PDT

Nah, the main group I frequent in has over 30 individual users posting every 1-2 days, with even more posting every few days. It's pretty active, been alive for over a year now.

I joined a group after several invites. It was called the Cult of Ada. As soon as I joined, they all talked about punch and then I was the only one posting until I quit.

Yes. There was this guy in the Classifieds talking about a really active group with a lot of members, and I joined it, to see that, yes, there were plenty of members, but every. Single. Thread. Was auto-locked. The newest was dated August 2010.

Who the hell do you think I am?

That's happened once or twice. I'm only active in like 2 groups though.

Do you like Yax? I do.

I actively post in a group that has almost 600 members, but only about a dozen members regularly post in it.

Look out, mister cool guy over here

lol jk harlawl

OT: Most groups are only active for a short while, there are only a few that have managed to stand against the sands of time.

That meme got overused fast and I was sadface. :/

Anyway, I joined Sapphire. Didn't see what was so great. It was actually pretty weird. So I left. #TooPopular

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I've never been much of a chapter jumper myself. I recently did go into most of the groups I'm in now, and pretty much all of them were precisely what the OP is describing. I also found out I have admin status in most of them. Imagine my surprise.

YPTWDTFWG was by far the best, though also the most like what the OP and the rest of you have experienced.

  • 12.15.2011 8:32 PM PDT

That's because people just give Ninjas admin roles for no reason. And why not a chapter jumper, is being a Bungie Jumper too much to handle?

I commonly find myself joining groups then the group promptly dying out...

"Uhh... Heh, my mom."
"Dude... What?"

Get ya popcorn and eat the thickest dick if you think I would waste time lyin to any of u.

Nope.

If someone is invited to SV and turns out to be a lurker, they are kicked after a week.

  • 12.15.2011 10:15 PM PDT

Yeah, I've joined groups that I thought looked interesting, then it was pretty dead once I joined. I mainly just stick to the groups that I'm now.

  • 12.15.2011 10:15 PM PDT

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

It's happened a few times. I should probably try harder not to lurk...

  • 12.15.2011 10:21 PM PDT

People create groups under the assumption that they will run and thrive on their own. Just like if you exile a baby and give it no attention in the early stage of its life, it will die.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

Not really. When i joined the groups they were all somewhat active. Most of them are struggling now though.
