Subject: Ever join a group...

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

The Mythic Members group is active and fun. And for some reason we let Deej and Achronos post with us, but they arnt true mythics.

I have seen this happen far too often. Groups rise and then fall. Few groups stay popular and active in the long run.
Groups need a purpose or else they're no better than a specialized flood forum with repeated topics.

Achronos is more of a Mythic than you'll ever be! No, but seriously:

Yeah, i pretty much carry the Mythic Members group. Every thread is posted by me, but each has a healthy 100-160 replies within two or three days.

I guess i'm the only one with the mental capacity to post good threads in there, aside from Big Black Bear, Primo, or TopGun. Those three post threads every so often.
Hey, I post things...

Indeed, TopGun's polls make me question the very essence of what it is to be human as well as ponder the secrets that bind the intricate fabrics of this universe.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

If I join a group and it's dead, I just leave. I don't really give it a lot of thought.

I agree.

Just drink a beer and everything will be ok

*Cleverly uses thread to advertise group*

The main group I go in has been fairly active for the last 2 years. This is mainly due to our good mods and one of our members who is an insane recruiter.

I've seen a few others that I've joined wither and die though :(

Honestly there are only a few groups that see frequent activity. Groups are a dying feature on this site if you ask me.

Everyone is entitled to their own wrong opinion.

I'm part of the Bungie.net Minecraft group/server called SeptaCrafters
We're a Bungie.net group that goes to our very own Bungie server. Most players are from the Halo community either off Bungie itself or through word to Halo friends.

Yeah I know what its like.

I remember one group, this thing had over 10k people in it. Now of course they weren't all active, but here were at least 100 active members on there, 50 of which were regular.

They moved offsite. :(

The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

As you waste your breath complaining about life, Someone out there is breathing their last. Appreciate what you have.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.

Oh, right. SIP. I joined them and realized that I had a higher Gamerscore than 80% of the rest of the group so I left. Most of the games people needed help in, I had already knocked out and moved on.

I for one was part of a strong group, it fell apart when the famous "group conquerors" were on their golden age.

After that, we all split up and never was the same. Groups were made out of our group but members and other stuff didn't became what we thought.

The hard thing is to have a Smart and well choose staff, and good people to recruit. Make plans and do them. Give real prizes etc. I was charge of activities, and one of them was about recruiting it went very well.

I'm in quiet a few groups at the moment, but the only one still breathing is the Café so I'm doing my best at posting in there daily. The dead groups I just keep around so that I might end up with another achivement on bungie.me

I barely am ever active in any of the groups I am in, but they are still there if I ever feel like something vital should be posted in them.
