I used to like nonpoint before they fell off the planet. Great potential for a band that was confused as to what they were.

Incubus - Follow (Halo 2 OST version)

Just because of how awesome it was during that level, always pumps me up for Halo.

Normally I just shuffle my songs though.

Which sub-genre? (there's a bunch of types of metal, so I'm just curious)

Which is why I called it a sub-genre ;)

I listen to something from pretty much every genre of music out there, but many people stick to very specific types, hence my curiosity.

I stick exclusively to the metal genre, but I listen to pretty much anything in its sub genres. It gets confusing considering they have death metal, black metal, speed metal, metalcore, etc. I just keep it simple and call it metal.

It's not confusing, each genre of metal is quite different. My favorite is melodic death metal i.e. soilwork, in flames, sark tranquility. My 2nd is metalcore i.e. as i lay dying, august burns red...

Check youtube, people get in huge fights over what sub genre bands are in. I personally could care less what sub genre a band is as long as I enjoy it.
