What do you mean "minus"? That is the major point behind it, it isn't slipspace ready therefore it isn't ready. Not to mention it would be makingtrial flights like you said, it wouldn't be jumping 60 lightyears away.

The UNSC hasn't recovered from the war whatsoever; ship numbers are around if not lower than they were when the UNSC was first formed. Planets are out of communication with Earth and the economy's are wrecked, not to mention that the human population is at a very low point. Do not confuse the UNSC with ONI.

You haven't stated anything that isn't showing me otherwise. That ship has been in the making for nearly 30 years and still has a few more years to go. It is going to take awhile to get the slipspace working not to mention add more stuff from "onyx". Then they are going to need to fully staff that ship, which won't happen overnight.

UNSC will be in Halo 4, no doubt. I cannot imagine a Halo game without other humans in it, or at least someone besides the Chief. (343i would never do this.)

The UNSC Infinity has something to do with it, the Concept Art is a big hint, but we cannot be sure whether it stands on the basis of 2 trailers.

I may even expect to see Chakas there... anything is possible, MUST READ PRIMORDIUM!!

So because you cannot imagine a Halo game without humans each game must have them? Wow. Last time i check forerunners built halo not humans.

The logic has some backing to it, it is not just my viewpoint.

The exclusion of other humans in any Halo game is very unlikely as this eliminates a lot of the character and it would make for a hard campaign to digest, and for that reason I find it very unlikely that 343i would do so.

Not my opinion, a 95% estimation (my best guess) at the chances of 343i doing such a thing. I would be okay with a very lonely Chief, but to keep the fans happy I think it is unlikely the UNSC/ONI/Other humans will be missing.

Looks like we are never going to get any covenant based games,Forerunner games, games based in the far past all because (for some Reason) humans are the only race to have character.
That sucks, I guess halo will get milked then because i don't see how the lore will ever honestly expand if humans must constantly be involved to make everything "relevant".

I find it interesting how they are keeping humans around to "keep the "Fans" happy" yet those same fans are talking about halo being milked. Those "fans" are the problem.

I agree. Remember Halo 2? Of course you do. That game was brilliant. The campaign revealed so much about the Covenant, and those Arbiter missions were why it is still my favorite Halo campaign. It only added to the campaign, and it certainly did not take away from any MC character moments.

People complained, Halo 3 was a straight forward and rather uninteresting story compared to Halo 2. Now people are asking for Halo 3.5, *sigh*.

The fans ruin games, multiplayer, campaign, you name it. They ask for things, hate others, don't want to try something new.

This is why I respected Reach multiplayer, it had the guts to add to the Halo formula.

Halo is almost certainly dead anyway, the fans, who are the best and the worst of the franchise, will be the ones who leave, asking for a lot, and not caring when it will die.

I will always care, I am assume you will too.

For me, the fiction drives the series. Not the gameplay.

More like People that have been playing the games for 10 years want change. If you had actually played and payed attention to the games you would feel the same.

Blegh.

Not ranting, speculation :).

We are naturally tired of arguing canon, especially Grey (I can imagine trying to argue that Origins is canon, very hard unless you have a deep background).

The problem is most people jump to conclusions too quickly.

I did as well, until I saw the director's commentary for Halo Legends.

We know very little about the Halo story as a whole, I believe some understand it more than others.

Unfortunate you thought that way with Bungie around, because they seemed to hate expanding the game series alongside the novels.

The games never caught up with the books and what they cooked up; it divided the fanbase and set up false hopes, and gripes for when your hopes are not entertained; i.e., not receiving a game which you play as the Covenant or Forerunners, etc.

So you have a group of fans, people like grey, and Quan, who are alienated because they're Halo gurus, and they expect their experience with the novels to be translated into the games.

The books are setting up an amazing feeling that the games never reach.

I think that if the novels are to expand on the universe, then so should the games at the same pace. The game series had stayed still, but I believe we may have Bungie to thank for that.

I'm not sure if these opinions of mine are consistent with my past opinions, but whatever, this is what I think now.

Now that we have 343 in charge, they're sure to catch the games up with the novels in no time.

Still, that doesn't change the fact that Halo 4 is a direct sequel to Halo 3, and therefore requires elements that make it consistent with that trilogy. It won't be "rehashed" or "milking" if 343 is good enough to refine and refresh everything, and I think they are.

If it were a game about the Forerunners vs. Whoever-- pbbbff, the UNSC can go -blam!- itself for all I care.

M.O.R.O.N

At least in my last post, I'm actually sympathizing with you.

Seriously. Would I take the time to draw THIS if I hadn't played any of the Halo games!?

I agree with the 343i statement. So far they seemed to have respected book canon, at least some parts of it, especially the 9th CEA terminal.

Will you take your head out of your ass for at least two seconds?

Your post makes no sense.

You're laughing at me due to me making claims that the books are well-written and entertaining.
Did I miss something?

So you still haven't read the books but your trying to come off as if you have? That would work if you could understand the books without reading the books, which defeats tone of many points of a book.

I need to have a 100% knowledge of the books in my post that explained and elaborated on how they and the games both should be equal without alienation of fans?

Because the reason I explained all of that was because the books are loved and adored by the fans-- so I believe those fans; I believe that the novels are well-written, I and use it as a supporting statement.

So let me lay this out... you're lashing out at me for claiming that the books are good in a post which I was agreeing with you in?

So, what, you're just trying to flare a fight? Grow up.

I think everyone is forgetting about Halsey, Kurt, and the SPARTAN III's. There's a lot of speculation about the death star lookin' thing in the first trailer, and there are a lot of people who are saying that that's Onyx, so, unless I missed something, it's a very likely possibility. (if you don't know what I'm talking about read Halo: Ghosts of Onyx)

  • 12.17.2011 10:07 AM PDT

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Ruby, you are attacking Grey by calling him names makes your credibility void in any arguments.

Also, you claimed that you never read the books, it further hurts your argument.

I'm still pressing that UNSC won't be at Halo 4 because you say it has to be there because of gameplay reasons. I say no. Fiction is what it drives the story.

Also sad news for you: This is new trilogy where UNSC and Covenant are un-needed for Halo 4 anyway.

Also, the concept art itself is not enough proof that UNSC or Covenant are at Halo 4. And before you link to that video of warthog, it was for Forza 4. Not Halo 4.
