It's out for PC, Mac and PS2. As for where you can buy it... I don't know.

Oni is a good game. It has nice graphics, a good story, and great action. The game is very fluid and easy to learn. It is a rare success of a 3rd person view that never suffers from bad camera angles (the bane of most 3rd person games). If you enjoy action games and anime, then the game is a must because it definately has an anime flavor to it.

The reason why it sometimes gets a bad rep on bungie.net is because relative to the completeness of Bungie's other titles (Marathon, Myth, Halo) Oni can sometimes feel a little lacking. However, that is ONLY when compared to the epic behemoths that are Marathon, Myth and Halo. Oni is, in its own right, a great game and is a lot of fun to play.

It is available for PS2, PC and I think Mac as well. Bungie used to have it for sale at the Bungie store. The new Bungie store has just recently opened, so I would watch there to see if any copies of Oni pop up for sale. I'm sure copies could be found on amazon.com or ebay or any site like that. If you are lucky, you could find a copy in the bargain bin at your local Game Stop, EB, or Media Play, but that seems less and less likely these days.

They seem to be. It's getting harder and harder to find some of the old school classics in stores. The classics of the late 90's like Crusader: No Remorse, Fallout, Myth:TFL, are all but extinct in stores (at least from what I can see). I'm sure its just my nostalgic, eclectic tastes and desire to play good games rather than new games, but it seems like a trip to the computer store or video game store is getting more and more like sifting through garbage for that one jewel among pebbles.

Anyway, I don't want to get too far off topic, so again I say, Oni is a fun game and good luck to you in your quest to find a copy of it.

yea oni is good... from what i remember playing it it is kinda of a futuristic (and better) version of true crime... not saying its anything like it... i just think thats a reasonable comparison of game play...

If you play Oni and do not think that it is awesome, it is actually because you are the problem. It's not that the game isn't awesome enough for you, it's the fact that you are not awesome enough for Oni.

Oni is very good if you don't mind doing singleplayer ONLY, it's got great graphics (for it's day, little behind now, but still very good), Very lush urban environments, and you get to kick booty with a cool girl character. On top of all that it has a very good story.

Of course it's great.....
Bungie made it.

Oni was an incredible game - way ahead of similar titles in the genre like the mindless Max Payne. It had eye-popping graphics, a great combat system, and a very unique storyline and superb weapons balance, all of which are notorious traits of most Bungie games. (The Mercury Bow, baby -YEE-uh!)

The story was very compelling, lacking the cheese and bland taste, making room for the excellent in-game cinematics and voice-overs and original artwork! The story was actually inspired by Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell, and features the voice of Amanda Winn Lee as Konoko, who also did Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion - for those of you fellow otakus out there.

The game certainly has it's moments - both memorable and slightly frustrating, but satisfying through-and-through. I've played through it 3+ times on PC, and i doubt the PS2 experience is any lesser. You won't regret anything about it's purchase. Good Luck!

Sardonic is out of his mind. Oni is a pretty awful game, and apparently he isn't aware that even at the time of its release, the graphics were sub-par. If you play the game all the way through, you wouldn't know Bungie had a hand in its development unless someone told you - or you read the credits, duh. This is because the entire storyline and gameplay are bland. Compared to other games in its genre, it doesn't revolutionize anything or bring new ideas to the table. God knows why I still have the game on my computer.

My opinion, if you want to experience some classic Bungie, pick up the Marathon trilogy and have at it. It receives far less credit than it deserves.

Oni wasn't awful; the gameplay might have been somewhat bland, but the game's story and characters were pretty interesting and it was an enjoyable game and a great game to kill some time. Sure there are better games, but still the game is pretty good.

The whole look of the game on PS2 is pretty dark and somewhat of a turn-off, but the storyline kept me hooked.

(I would tend to agree, since I gave a relatively lukewarm review and stated that, in my opinion, other Bungie games were comparatively better.)

Sardonic claimed the graphics were good for its time, which they clearly weren't.

I really disagree. The first time i played ONI (demo) was at my friends house and it was... well... In my opinion terrible. It was weird. The weapons where meaningless and didn't really work. The opponents where not stupid and actually quite difficult though but the steering in physichal fights with mouse and keyboard where very agrivating. Whe came to a hall with these security lasers that you had to avoid to get into the security. The lasers where doubled every time you switched a button. I thought that it was the badest and most unrealistic security system ever. It looked like some hi-tech james bond smart-but-useless security.

It really didn't make any sence to me.

And after reading this, I refer you all once again to Reiginko's original post.
