Subject: Why do people complain about bloom?

Reach's bullet magnetism + poorly implemented bloom means that it puts individual battles less down to player skill and more down to game-generated luck.

If two players hypothetically have perfect aim and can hit every shot, and they both shoot at the same time, then they should both die. But only one will die because bloom will mess one of them around and decide that they won't win that battle.

That's lame and frustrating.

It also makes the game even more slow paced because it limits the ability of a good player. You can have as good aim as you want, you still can't shoot as fast as you can aim because you'll miss some shots thanks to bloom.

H: CE - Amazing.
Halo 2 - Revolutionary.
Halo 3 - Decent.
Halo Reach- An epic fail of monumental proportions.

Halo: Reach is a new game, stop trying to play it like it's Halo 3.

:)

Because there's absolutely no chance for randomness; the bullet is gonna go where you shoot. This makes shooting a pure test of who shoots better. With bloom, the reticule expands (obviously), giving you a better chance to hit someone even if your aiming is off. And also, Halo plays 10x better without bloom...But bloom isn't all as bad as people put it out to be. There is a little skill involved with it, but Reach couldn't pull it off.

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

I've once been perfectly five-shot spammed by a kid's pistol from the waterfall spawn while sitting on top of Alpha rock in a game of Invasion.

While that was the worst scenario, bloom has screwed me over countless times.

And don't tell me how "rare" something like that will happen; it happened once, and that's far too many times.

Because it turns one on one encounters into a coin flip.

The concept of bloom is good, but the implementation of bloom in Reach is terrible.
