MarkFanous and blacknight, the only people you play against are bad and/or retarded. As such, you can't make a judgement on pretty much any of the problems that Reach has because you're both so bad to play against anyone good enough to abuse them.
If you had played at high level Arena, you would understand how certain maps are unbalanced, or how the jetpack ruins maps and is abused. If you were good you would understand how armor lock slows the game down and is nothing more than a crutch that stops bad players from dying when they get outplayed.
However, you don't see these issues because at the level of skill which you play at, there are no strategies or areas to hold down. Everyone just runs around the map like an imbecile looking for the next person they run into so that they can try to AR melee them again.
Ah finally, the first intelligent counter-response yet.
First off, I'm not bad at this game by most means. I admit that I am not an amazing MLG player at this, but not bad, my stats show this (several perfections, high killing sprees on gametypes such as swat, etc). I am not always paired with retards, I don't play BTB (the home of the noobs) and many times in the playlists that I mainly play in, there is at least one or two players that are better than me at the game.
Personally, I play this game for the fun of it. I gave up on Arena a LOOOONG time ago since I found no fun in the competitiveness of it. And don't tell me I don't know Halo because I am not a tryhard on lolarena trying to get 1% onyx. Arena is not the only playlist, and it's barely competitive.
When it comes to jetpack, all you really need to do is adapt to the situation and beat the opponent. A famous certain someone once said that the it's not the strongest species that will survive, nor the smartest, but the one most responsive to change. Why don't you use jetpack yourself? Plus a jetpacker is an easy target when alone. The best teams will be able to analyze the situation and adjust accordingly.
When it comes to armor lock, I agree. It does slow down gameplay when in the hands of a desperate noob. A good player will be able to use it to his/her advantage, however the idiots of Halo will do it to desperately avoid death.
I'd also like to point out that I'm not one of those imbeciles that run around the map spraying and praying. I personally love playing invasion, it has fun gameplay, (semi) balanced loadouts, there's strategy, and a just a bit of rping here and there. I play invasion with friends sometimes and there actually are strategies that must be used. We commonly vote for who will act as spawn points and who will rush in. Then there's matter of vehicle deployment, power weapon control, and taking down of key targets. Unlike team slayer or BTB there is actually a need for strategy in invasion.
Oh and before you comment on the gravity hammer being my ToD. Sorry, but I had a HUGE grifball phase where I became literally addicted to playing it. That's over now though.
