Bloom in theory is supposed to reward people with cadence in their shots as opposed to a quick trigger finger. By definition, this not only slows down the overall pace of the game, but it also adds an element of patience. Again, this is in theory.

In the actual game, however, we see people winning these encounters by doing just the opposite--spamming at the max Rate of Fire and Bloom expansion. This wouldn't be a problem if firing at the max RoF was as 100% accurate as pacing was. This is because if it was, everyone would fire at the max RoF and it would speed up the game (such is the case with the Zero Bloom settings).

Unfortunately, firing at the max RoF is inconsistent due to the way bloom is set up. The bullets don't go where you want them to go. They go where they want to go, and all you have control over is how often they go there. If you're spamming, your bullet isn't going to go in the same place within the reticle. It's going to go in a random place, and that can cost you a kill.

Is it as bad as some people think? I believe that once you understand how the reticles on the bloomed weapons work, Bloom is manageable. However, it's still an imperfect system, and I think Bungie should have just stuck with static reticles instead.

I used to be really opposed to Bloom, but now that I understand it it doesn't bother me. I might get outgunned once in a while due to the randomness, but I just say to myself "we both fought the system in this fight, and it favored him instead of me". There really isn't anything you can do when you argue with the game itself. Which is why Zero Bloom is so much more competition-friendly than default Reach--the bullet goes where you put it.

Knowledge is a powerful tool, so I'm happy to share it with you and anyone else who doesn't understand something, as I once did.

thanks i get that a lot of people are angry about bloom but people who are good and claim to be good who rage about this should know how to pace their shots already once i take down someones shield i just let the reticule fall down and then i headshot the bugger.

but wait doesnt your post imply that people who are raging dont really know the game?

or is that just me missunderstanding?

That's just you still being retarded.

He who cannot command himself should obey. And many can command themselves, but much is still lacking before they can obey themselves.
--Thus Spoke Zarathustra

I wouldn't say Reach is a "bad" game. However, when compared to Halo 2 and Halo 3, Reach leaves something to be desired. When people say that Reach is terrible, they are comparing Reach to previous Halo installments.

In sum, Reach is a bad game.

A myriad of unnecessary and poorly implemented mechanics that made the game borderline unplayable.

( ie: Bloom, Armor Abilities, Vehicle Health system, slowed movement speed and jump height, the DMR range,)

The only thing the game really did right was forge, which can create some fun custom games, but it's hard to get in a custom lobby.

bungie put the stuff in there to make the game challenging and whilst there are things that annoyme from time to time i still like the game.

i have gotta say it though bungie should have really made a custom games MM playlist

Challenging.

No. They put retarded mechanics in to give bad players a chance to compete with good players. And even then, the bad players are still bad.

I don't care what Bungie claims to have tried to do. They failed with most all of their 'innovations' and their implementations.

Brutes aren't monkeys, Brutes are gorillas. Humans are monkeys, and Spartans are Orangutans.

I *thought* Reach was bad (and still gets annoyed sometimes), but I now realize Reach is actually quite good, but handled by people who can't take the proper care of it.

I think the TU going on will just put it in a bigger mess.

What needs to be done at current low population state is

a) less playlists, a handful at most, and absolutely less specialized matchmodes like "Slayer Pro" and similar. Reach gameplay shines with individual freedom for loadouts and weapons, not the opposite. Just makes it DULL.

b) a complete giveaway of all map-packs.

See you online folks :)

Why bother teaching? They have to experience it for themselves and grow up. At this point I'm convinced it's 13 year olds using these arguments, I did the same when I was there age. Let them stay in their ignorance.

It's true that you can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped. However, I think it's better to have tried to then to have walked on by without doing anything. What if that moment that you try is what helps someone?

I wouldn't be where I am today if people had walked on by me and left me in my ignorance.

There has to be slight motivation or a spark on their part to want to change.

That's what happened with me. That's what I see in certain people on here.

You know those threads asking for FRs? There are certain people I've sent them to because they have an urge to change and get better, to listen.

Without that, it's like talking to a wall.

In fact, I'd rather talk to the wall.

The moment of understanding will eventually come to them. You can argue once and your words will stay in their mind and when they get BS'd they can finally think for themselves.

But people are stupid so idc. And it honestly comes with time and self thought.

Is the OP new here? I wouldn't know.

All that's required is a couple of posts max when arguing with them. Then the thread goes in circles like the old SK threads.

What I really don't get is when you argue with the known idiots who constantly reject your views. That's truly talking to a wall.

Actual game play event~~~

*Kid rushing the same spot over and over again on Boneyard getting killed by same shotgun camper*
*He was also my spawn mate*

Me : Dude, stop rushing him and use a different way in, that one is obviously not working.

Kid : SHUT UP NOOB I PLAY FOR FUN.

Me : *baffled*

Same result in many other scenarios.

1. That's why I don't go into Invasion alone
2. Like Irie said, it'll either resonate with him for a while or bounce off like water on a dolphins back
3. At least you tried

lol you rage at me and talk as though i need to learn i have by no length mastered the game but i play it and i enjoy it, you still havent said why you disslike the game or even that you do you are only stating that i need to learn that the game is bad,

what you need to learn is to read an entire post then retort with a proper argument, if you do prefer to stay in a bubble of ignorance and arrogance and state that i am a idiot or whatever
then that is not business of mine but from my experience people
who act like that are not generally happy people.

they end upp like that angry old man across the street so come on give me a reason or an argument why reach is so bad give me bloom or AL i can tell you about it dont stand there and scream and not listen and then complain about it.
