If they wouldn't have sold their studio to Microsoft there would be no Halo. There was no way they could have funded the Halo project by themselves. It probably would have been better if they could have done it without Microsoft, but speaking realistically, they simply couldn't have.
It's a complete shame that Halo had been held back by all of this. In fact it's a shame to all of FPS gaming that it was. Aim assist probably would have never even been invented if it weren't for Bungie trying to make a FPS work on a console. The entire "noobification" of FPS gaming was started with Halo: Combat Evolved on the Xbox.
(Prepares self for massive hatred due to what I just stated)
It's simple. Microsoft really doesn't care about their customers at all. They won't support them beyond how much they have to in order to make money. It's what everyone should always remind themselves when buying/getting attached to a Microsoft product.Still, Bungie did and in doing so, they sold their souls. Halo 2 could have been way better but M$ wanted it out sooner.
It couldn't be as bad as Reach's autoaim. That's 10x worse. With the Wraith, I can't target -blam!- because of the stupid crosshair getting stuck on an enemy. The stupid slow rof makes it a pain in the ass.

Just look at the Reach demo.
They gave us a -blam!- level. I would have preferred Tip of the Spear. At first, Elites falling out of the sky and infinite waves of Covies looks neat. But then it gets annoying because you can skip the entire first half of the level! And the infinite waves of Covies isn't fun at all because troopers get killed too fast and the pelican always steals your kills. And Bloom makes it real frustrating to try to fight Covies directly. Then there's Jackals. Literal meat shields!! Even on Easy! Freaking lack of bleedthrough in campaign!!!
Then there's the lack of skulls and scoring. Disabled?! Where's my Thunderstorm? My Ultra Elites? Not even GBD skull? Way to ruin the fun M$. But wait, it gets worse. Lack of cps make setting up blockades on LNoS a pain in the ass. Lack of vehicles makes it bland. With only a Wraith as an option (not to mention that it can be destroyed despite being at full health), which is op (powerful Wraith mortars) + underpowered (slow rof, small wings are pointless, gets stuck easily, autoaim is too strong, vehicle health) and not very fun to use (i.e. moves scenery items like they were street cones), I've had bad experiences where I get hit by overcharged bolts repeatedly and those Ultras with concussion rifles destroy me.
Random spawns every wave is not fun. 2 days ago, I tried to replicate a glitch where an Elite berserked and then crouched all the time but it only happened a second time, after which I kept getting 1 Elite Major + 2 Grunts or Jackals. Even after I restarted the game via start button and from the campaign menu.
If anything, they should have used a different level and only included the space portion of LNoS (which is obviously why they used it as the demo level).
Which brings me to the most important part: why no Halo 2 on the Xbox marketplace? Why no Halo 3 demo? This is complete BS. Only Halo Wars and Reach. Wow M$, way to screw us over.
