Subject: The things in Halo that we take for granted

DMR starts in most playlists and a secondary weapon that's useful at all ranges even in AR starts. It only took Bungie 6 years to figure out that this is necessary.

Halo 2 (2004) -> Reach (2010)

1-50 > Retarded Reach everyone wins ranking system.

Sorry, people need put in their place. So someone can't get a 50? They can't get the highest rank in a game?

Oh well. They suck. Life is full of disappointment.

And W/L > any other system.

W/L IS what system exists in Reach and everybody says it sucks! This community makes no sense... And one didn't necessarily suck if they didn't reach a 50. They just either didn't boost for it, or didn't make an alt for it. Players who had a lot of games played on their account ranked up much more slowly than those who made a new account and zoomed their way to a 50. People like me who improved over time had no chance of ranking up that fast and, essentially, were locked in place by the time they could earn one.

Are you talking about w/l in Arena?

lol, Arena. That system is, right now, broken. Boosting was never a problem in previous Halos - except to people that cared about some random person having a boosted 50 - but that boosted 50 affected no one. In Arena, if you boost, you displace someone else from their legit rank - which means it's either boost, or get boosted on.

Rank lock doesn't exist. It's always possible to rank up. And once again, who cares that someone made a second account for a 50? Let them have their dumpy second account 50 or a boosted 50. It affects no one.

1) He was referring to the way that there isn't much motivation to win because you will be rewarded the same for winning as for losing. Play enough and everyone will reach the top rank.

2) I got my first and only 50 in early 2010 after I had played about 8000 games, and I got it searching alone every match. If you couldn't get a 50, you weren't good enough and didn't win enough times. Rank lock is not an excuse.

Edit: Having checked the stats, I see that I played roughly 6 times more ranked matches than you did. Your inability to get a 50 was not down to other people boosting or playing on alt accounts or 'rank lock' or you not playing on an alt account or with a booster. You were just not good enough. Swallow your pride and just take it. It's a game, it doesn't really mean much outside of the game anyway.

Rank up! Master sargeant shooter sargeant of all important shooter sargeants! Rank systems like that i guess

Good, solid controls - it's something that has been consistent through the whole Halo series. It's so important to have a smooth natural feel to the controls, and many other FPS seem to get it wrong. If you've ever played a game where the controls never feel right, no matter how you adjust the sensitivity, you'll know what I mean.

The boosters/second accounters affect the legitimacy of the rank. All of a sudden 50s mean a lot less because pretty much anybody who sets out to get one can find a way.

The current Arena system, while exploitable, makes the ranks mean more because you have to continuously fight for them. If partying up was removed, it would be much harder.

I have both Black Ops and MW3 at my house today, but I still have to finish my map so I wont be on either. Perhaps I'll redirect you to my brother, who's suddenly fallen head over heels for MW3.

Just not my style of gameplay. It'd take me a decade to learn half of the weapon names.

Your damned straight I wasn't good enough. The list I played in constantly was MLG (hence why my KD was so low). I stopped trying for a 50 in Team Slayer, the list I did well in, because I hated the maps at the time. I'd get a few good matches on Guardian/Pit, then I'd get Standoff where the entire game was decided by who got the Laser/Warthog up and running in the first ten seconds.

Also, I never did mind the fact that I didn't get a 50. I still played the game just fine anyway. Had I really wanted one, I would have only played ranked lists. My point was though, that the 50s didn't mean that much because of all the illegitimate 50s out there from boosters/cheaters/second accounters.

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

Being able to change to your teamate's third person screen and look around, which is not in Reach.

While what you say is true, someone else having a 50 didn't really affect me or my ability to get a 50.

Reach works on a leaderboard % style ranking. With this way, the people who boost can get high ranks which displaces the people who would otherwise get high ranks. In other words, someone else having a high rank means it's more difficult for me to get one, and when people use exploits like 2s tricking and iron boosters to get there, it makes it pretty much impossible for anyone else to get there without using the same exploits.

*Get rid of yoinking and medal ( yoinking is retarded )
*Force Bungie to work again and get rid of 343's existence

Don't be mad at the Jetpack just because it makes designing maps more difficult. I always say 90% of the problems players have with Jetpack are really problems with poor map design.

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

What are you, Darkside Eric's handpuppet?

Even if you design your maps for jetpack, it's still gimmicky as all hell.
