While some maps in Halo PC are symmetrical, the majority are not, and have different layouts to the red and blue areas. I've noticed on some maps different teams are easier to play than others, namely Death Island; when playing as Red, you can easily jump down to the blue base, while on blue the trek is quite a bit more strenuous.

Also, on Blood Gulch, people could make the case that the Blue side are better off as they can access the fuel rod much faster and on a more direct route to Red base, while the Reds get the O/S and RL.

Even on symmetrical maps, as MC is right-handed, it's easier to shoot someone with a rocket launcher when on blue rather than red going round the top teleporters on Sidewinder.

Are there any other maps which you think are unfairly balanced to either side?

Rat Race CTF is way easier for the blue, they can drop out of one of the chimneys and land on the fricking red flag stand. I also think red has an advantage on Blood Gulch with snipers, the blue team is kinda out in the open and red has better terrain and shadows to move and fire from.

I find it tougher being on Red team on Infinity. They have that long flat spot and a ledge for snipers on the left side, making it easier for blue to get away with the flag. While the blue base has that winding canyon that's hard to drive the hog through. They also have that strange formation on the other side that can sometimes be an obstacle when your escaping with the flag.

The thing about Death Island that I noticed is when you are on red and you TP to the roof, if you cut to the right of the boulder, you can snipe anyone in the Blue gunner turret, but the oposite is not true if you're on Blue.

BG is also balanced to favor Red in terms of terrain, if not in weapons placement. Leave Red base, stay right, go through the caves. You can be covered till you get out of the last cave. If you're sneaky/lucky, you can get in Blue base without firing a shot.

I've never noticed an advantage to either side of Danger Canyon, but I usually go by Ghost, Hog, or walk the tunnels.

I've always felt that the reds in Blood Gulch had an advantage because if there was a race between a blue player and a red player red would win, because the red base is closer. But the blue base is closer to the overshield/active camo powerup, so it all works out.

And I think Master Chief is ambidextrous, ImSpartacus. It's just that maybe human weapons are developed for right handed people, you know? Maybe that also goes for the Covenant.

Hmm, while MC IS ambididexterous, (i.e. HALO 2 dual-wielding proves that) I meant that yeah, he'll use his right hand first (and it does make a difference when using an RL or throwing grenades- the arc is muchly different).

Covenant mostly right handed? Interesting, does that mean they may have similar brain patterns (left/right hemisphere)?

Just the color of red and blue have different amounts of visibility on certain maps.

Although if you notice, the Plasma weapons also have a button on the other side for shooting ( Plasma Rifles and Pistols have a little button for firing ) so technically anyone can use Plasma weapons, and Human weapons?... well I suppose you should be able to use them even if you are left-handed. But that's another story and this is off-topic...

Yeah I think some maps are very much like that. And in Timberland the Blues have a very big hill protecting them from red snipers so I find that rather wrong...

don't forget, if an uneven number of people are playing, and no one quits or changes teams, red team always gets the extra guy on their team.

I always wondered about how that was worked out. I thought it might be determined by which team was behind– they would get the extra player.

Its usually the team with less people that gets new guys that join.
Doesnt matter if its red or blue.
