They are paramount to the story.Without their existance, Halo 2 probably wouldn't be in development.

bah

Because every good game has zombies. And the Flood are like super zombies on steroids.

The above statement is totally serious. Good games are meant to scare you a bit. Let's all admit it, that first time playing 343GS, you were scared at the total lack of enemies. Then comes in the Flood, and you pooped your pants just a bit. Well, felt like you might.

And even now, when playing a Flood level, you still get nervous when you hear that squirming Flood noice and can't find the bugger. I sure do.

The flood is a parasitic race of beings, trapped on the halo rings for millions of years, after the forunner destroyed everything else in an attempt to destroy them. The flood spores are tiny little guys that usually pop harmlessly on your shields; with your shields down, they swarm you like Amazonian Cannibals onto an European Explorer.
The infected forms are very dangerous and should be treated with extreme caution.
These mother-Blam!-ers jump further than you, run faster than you, can carry various guns, including ROCKETS and are impossible to kill with melee attacks. Many have tried and failed to kill a rocket-flood with melee attacks.

That said, both the above statements are true. They are essential to the plot, and it would be a real shame if they were taken out of halo2.

bah

Actually, killing any Flood with melee attacks is insanely difficult and probably impossible if they have a weapon. But just getting near a rocket Flood is damn hard to do.

its totally possible to kill a rocket flood, ive done it, on legendary, it took a crapload of respawns but i did it. The flood are something that are there to inspire fear because they evem inspire fear in the staunch and fear scorning elites, your mortal enemy who spit in your face, even they are afraid, so should you

plus they added the two front war dimension to th game, and then in two betrayals its a 3 front war

bah

Not kill, melee to death. They'll eat a good 20 melees before dieing. If you can melee a rocket Flood 22 times, something is wrong. Sourly wrong.

Remember, trust is calculated daily, and the maximum value possible changes every day too. Since the titles are based on the percentage your trust value is compared to the maximum value, it can easily change if the max value goes up further than you go up in the intervening time, even if you haven't had any negative items against you.

In other words, no the system isn't buggy, stop asking why your title changed, I'm not going to tell you.

The flood are nasty! However the prospect of hunter-flood is ace!

Seriously; a hunter flood.

Half Hunter, half flood; stronger than both.

-Jumps like a flood
-runs like a flood
-melee resistant
-can get up again after death
-damage resistant in general

-armored
-huge melee damage
-fricken huge gun

That WOULD be an interesting fight, to say the least

The Flood won't infect a Hunter, because he's exposed to all of that plasma. It's in the books. I didn't read them, but the people at GameFAQs have told me the Flood would not infect the Hunters because of that reason.

A dose of plasma a day keeps the Flood away.

That's how Sargeant Johnson wasn't infected, he was in a bunker full of plasma; so he tasted bad to the Flood.
