OMG EVERYBODY SEARCH FOR A REASON TO HATE 343

Get over the fact that their forums are strict. There have been plenty of criticism threads that have survived. Post in a polite, on-topic manner and you're good.

We were polite as can be.

Knowing you guy's, I seriously doubt that.

I'm thinking more and more after reading some stuff on 343 that Microsoft pushed most of the bad ideas in Reach on Bungie and that things are not looking so good for Halo 4. :(

Welcome to the internet. Joy dies here.

I used to be concerned about the future of Halo like you. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

Nope. SouthPole isn't a person. He's the avatar of the force of tryhards everywhere. He stalks the web looking for retards to set straight. He can not be stopped by mere bans or thread locks for he shall rise anew.

No, I actually was. Other people said stuff about people being fanboys, but I didn't. I had a conversation with one a poster who actually agreed with me after.

Really.

You think Microsoft pushed the ideas in Reach? Explain the lack of Master Chief - he brings in the bucks (and for good reason, in my opinion). If it was Microsoft's decision, Reach would have been nothing like what it is now. It probably wouldn't be based on the planet Reach either.

Making the game more like CoD also brings in the big bucks, this is where Microsoft comes in.

IDK. I would really, really like to be proved wrong.

CoD brings in the money because money is invested in it. It has little to do with the actual gameplay. The more Halo we get, the more popular and demanded it becomes.

Which I personally like.

What?

CoD is popular for a few reasons, one big factor is the gameplay. It's designed to be very casual and really simple, a anyone can pick it up, play an get easy kills type of game. Which is completely designed to attract a lot of people.

It's also a "modern day" "realistic" shooter (or w/e the hell you want to call it), which appeals to more people than a Scifi type shooter like Halo.

It's very casual, it attracts a lot more consumers.

Making Halo more like CoD, will only ruin it.

If you make a Halo game every year or every two years, Halo will be more popular than it would be if you made one every three or four years. CoD became widely loved because of its casual gameplay and "realistic" setting, yeah, but it's massively popular because of the massive amount of content it dishes out through the years.

It's of the reasons why Battlefield is nowhere near the popularity levels of CoD.

At least that's what I believe. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Far too tired so I'll make this short.

If you make a Halo game every year, they're going to be half assed, terrible, flawed more than they should, rushed and by the time things start get interesting and people start figuring the game out the new one will be around the corner.

M$ is not interested in CoDs yearly release regiment to make Halo "more popular" they're interested in it for the quicker profits. With yearly releases, they'll also keep dumbing the game down more an more to appeal to a wider audience, for the quick buck. And lets be real here, what Halo "needs" is not to keep dumbing it down, its already to such a low point I honestly don't see how it can go lower.

What makes a game popular is actually making the -blam!- game a GOOD -blam!- game, along with marketing and hyping the -blam!- out of it and having it live up to the hype (or even remotely close).

That will make a game -blam!- popular beyond belief and people will continue to play it years after release because its ACTUALLY -blam!- GOOD and has replay value.

Releasing half assed pile of trash games every year will not make the series more popular.

Besides, I don't know what CoD players you know but when I was playing Blops (first CoD game, though thats kinda irrelevant) they weren't too happy about 1-3 month map pack release, with terrible maps and the "same game every year" (which I think is dumb an bs, games in the same series will generally be the same and you know they still buy the next game anyway).

It dishes out a ton of crap content simply to sap as much $ as possible out of their consumers. Even when MW3 was right around the corner, they continued to dish out map packs for Blops.

I don't find the CoD players too happy with all the frequent content it pushes out.

Edit: That wasn't that short :/ and now I am going to bed.

"IMO no bloom and spawning with the same stuff was what made Halo... well... Halo for me over the past 10 years."

So they banned me.

My only other posts where saying I agree with the OP and jokingly posting something along the lines of.

"If you don't like Reach you're going to get banned!"
That's essentially on you. You weren't violating any rule explicitly on your own, but you were flamebaiting and they probably wanted to keep this on lock before it got out of hand.

Yeah, good luck with that. Let me know how attacking and threatening a company directly under Microsoft works out for ya.

If you have to ask if it's serious, it went way over your head.

i hope im not the only person who thinks people can be mean when you are new. I was playing with a bunch of people who were way more experienced than me, and i did horrible. I think people need to remember that at one point in time they were newbies too.
