I'm just wondering because the ending of Halo2 left me with the impression that the humans/elites/grunts/and hunters were going to start working together, but if the trailer is accurate then one of two things happened.

1.) The elites never worked with the humans except for the Arbiter and his allies, and the Covenant civil war was much smaller than I thought.

Or

2.) The Elites and humans banded together, and got wiped out anyways.

What do you think?

It is not new armor. Just the light and battle had effect.
No they did not loose.

I'm thinking the Elites probably are still waging war with the Brutes and the Prophets (and the evil evil evil Jackals, frikin one hit sniper kill). The Prophet's are most likely still in control of High Council and the civil war just hasn't come to Earth yet.

Also, the Elites would probably be unlikely to ally with the humans just yet, seeing as they have been enemies for so long. Though I imagine the Arbiter will show up with some Elite cavalry sometime during the game (which would rock).

I just hope the Grunts survive ;).
