There is no need to play as the Arbiter.

Arbiter must be there. I thought that it was kind of stupid playing arbiter and my brother threw his joystick in the arbiter's first level. But after that we found out that elites are not the bad guys but they are misleaded by the prophet. So in order to understand the story fully it is important to have arbiter( in the case MC has 100 levels and arbiter has 3.)

Yeah thats true.

I hope the Arbiter is in Halo 3. Granted, his levels sucked because most of the time all you did was slice Flood, but for better or for worse he's a part of the story now. To just rip him out of the story would leave this great gaping plot-hole, and Bungie aren't really reputed for leaving storylines unfinished (unless it keeps the fans guessing in a good way, like what happened to Kelly and Dr. Halsey after the events of First Strike).

Well if you've seen the trailer there is no glimse of the arbitor just the master cheif, does this mean that bungie haven't included him in Halo 3 or are they just giving us something to ponder on as the release slowly arrives.

I reckon if they dont include him he probably died doing somehting heroic or his troops betrayed him apon hearing the rest of the covanent have found the ark.

But thats just my view, please reply with your thoughts on any of the comments above and the ultimate quesiton of wheather the Arbitor will be in Halo 3.

It's only the announcement trailer, buddy. Relax, noone knows anything for sure yet.

Edit: Besides, Johnson wasn't in the Halo 2 announcement trailer, did you assume he wouldn't be in Halo 2 because of that? And neither was the Arbiter.

No, it wouldn't be the same, it would be MUCH BETTER.

Damn straight.

Ummm. We didn't see him in the halo 2 trailer.... and ya know what?....

He was in halo 2....

Now, just because not every character isn't in an announcement trailer, dosen't mean there not in the game!

Actually he might be in the trailer/ hes probably in the covenant ship(cant remember name) surrounded by Banshees!

  • 05.31.2006 12:03 PM PDT

it's a TRAILER why do you try and decide so much off ONE TRAILER!?!?!?!

Maybe he just didn't have time to run into the shot during the 2min it was filming. I'm sure he killed the camera man later. 0_o

Hmm, well to incorporate both sides, maybe Bungie will let you choose the campaign you want to do. Even though it felt odd to play as the Arbiter, think of all the parts you'd be missing. The Covenant are practically at civil war. You need the Arbiter to fill in the story holes. Everyone always likes being the good guy, what about the good guy behind the scenes?

this actually sounds like a good idea to play one campaign as MC and another as the arbiter i hope bungie puts that in halo 3 oh and he should stay in halo 3 (even though MC is the best) if you take him out now the story will be retarded.

I think he'll be in Halo 3. What would be interesting would be to have some co-op exclusive missions that would be the MC and the arbiter working together to achieve the same goal. Also, I hope they have co-op online and not just on the same console.
