I think that halo 2 war hella more balanced then halo1, and if you disagree you can go -blam!- yourself cuz I know your just a pistol whore who likes the unbalancedness of the pistol

halo 1 was terrible unbalanced, the pistol owned everything. there was no use for any other weapon

Twisted, you have to give that kid a break, he obviously doesn't play anything other than SMG start on Relic.

Yeah I agree with pretty much everything, exept the diversity of the rifles. I think if you try to make a number of rifles, you'll end up with a number of very similar weapons, that will add no diversity to the game. I think weapons should be a little more balanced though, because in H2 with Br starts, you could go the whole game without anyhting but a BR and do fine, make the other weapons worth picking up, kinda like the plasma rifle before the no duals change. Also no insta-kill weapons like combo and sword, or make sword have ammo, because it's like an endless killing tool. BR's should be great at mid ranges, but should be beaten by smaller weapons like smg's in close range, so that we son't end up with useless weapons again. And what to do with the needler...how about it turns a little more, and moves a little faster, so maybe it's actually worth taking up space on the map. I know people are gonna say crap like i play with smg's, but know that im all for BR starts, but lets make every weapon have it's own strengths and weakneses.

Yet, in Halo 2 all you have to do is hover the crosshairs over someones head and its an automatic headshot with the BR and sniper. Halo 1 pistol actually took some timing and some calculation to make accurate shots.

The insta kill is needed for balance. I'm all for leaving the BR the same, an M1 Tommy is way better close range than mid, but it still works for mid.

i think it autta have both guns from h2and h1 in it, plus if there is some way to make it so there is no unbalance or w/e that is good, maby add a new power weapon in. pretty fun to have those super cheap weapons every now and then. just in sum levs. anyways, i hope the pistol, ar, and ridable seats in scorpion come back.

So if someones running towards you with a pistol + you ONLY have rockets + shotgun, you are going to die?

Pistol was the best all round weapon but it was not the best weapon in all situations.



On-topic, I would love for the multiplayer to be as balanced as possible.

The netcode I hope will be true next gen so that when I die it will be because I got outshot not because my bullets are not registering.

The hosting process needs to be transparent so that all players can see a accurate picture of who is hosting, what his previous hosting sessions history is + what is your current ping to the host.

Matchmaking needs to have options for local, continental + worldwide games so that if you wish to wait for a local game you could, or jump into a worldwide pool of players.
Unranked games could be ping-filtered so that games can be more competitive.

Bots could also be included so that if a player wanted to practise on or offline it would possible. Online bots could also make it more possible for local players to have matches where there are a couple of players short.


Things from Halo 1 I'd want

Most of the maps (Chill, Hang 'em, Pris + Damn etc)
Spawning system
Ability to Grenade things to different positions (weapons + powerups)
Weapon Balance (All weapons are good, dependant on situation)
More available powerups (both can have os, invis etc)
More advantage from powerups (os + invis improved)
Grenade jumping
All weapons (Pistol, Sniper + Shotgun mostly)
Some of the more madcap gametypes (Race,Rally, Stalker etc)

Things from Halo 2 I'd want

Most of the maps (Zanzibar,Lockout,Midship,Containment)
Party / Lobby system (with some improvements)
Ability to hold back + see who's is alive
Team chat + proximity chat (with some adjustments)
After game stats (with some extra medals + columns)
All weapons (BR, Dual needlers + Sword mostly)
Ability to customise controls etc in mid game (would love a quick invert option as well)
Variety in playlists (from 1v1 to 8v8 + with single or team gametypes)
+ something else I've probably forgot.
