Subject: The Moon is our Destiny! OLD THREAD UPDATED WITH PROOF

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

I already posted in there, and didn't believe you. I'm sorry, bro.

After reading this thread, seeing more images, and reading possible games associated with the moon, I believed in the moons significance in relation to Destiny. Your thread just didn't do the trick, so to speak.

But yes, you were right. I think.

Don't get ahead of yourself, mate. I do think you're spot on, though ;)

@Ken: Surely if it is adding a recent discovery to a thread which, in turn, reinforces his claim, that would be accepted? I suppose you're not a mod, so you don't know. But I've done this several times in a thread of mine, so I think it is cool.

If a ninja could clarify this, I'd appreciate it.

Just because there's a compass doesn't make it the Earth. You should probably have researched that before saying it, OP.

Confirmed. Destiny is an Apollo 13 simulator where everyone must participate in the engineering, construction, and launch of the mission.

Success is only determined by individual weaknesses being supported by collective strengths.

Failure means death.

Am I the only one who sees the Sun in the Community ad? I mean, it's extremely bright and on the light side of the Earth. I'm no astrophysicist, but surely the link is to the Sun and not something which doesn't emit light of its own?

Granted, why would the States be lit up like a Christmas tree if it were the Sun? It would have to be later in the evening when it's dark in the East coast on the image. I'm not sure if the location of the Sun on the image is accurate (it's probably not for simplicity's sake). However, the star patterns in the background are similar to those we have seen previously, meaning whatever Destiny is, it could be set in the Sol system.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

I think the community ad was simply a "Septagon Rising" kind of deal, not a subtle hint towards their new IP...although now that I think about it...

Them hinting at the name of their future game.

Was that suppose to be a difficult thing for me to do.. or...?

Yeah, sort of like a "Rise of the Seventh Reich" deal.

Pretty much what I see it as. The Septagon refers to us, the community, bringing light in the form of activity to this site whilst Bungie remain dark (showing the rest of the planet in darkness). The only thing that says "Destiny" to me is the pattern in the background.

Here's a looky: By yours truly.

Another thing: Compare the location of the Destiny icon on the following:
One.
Two.
Three.

All of the locations on the map are different. Therefore, the Destiny icon's location cannot be significant, unless it is pointing out SEVERAL key points.

Remember, there was more than one Halo ring, there could be more whatevers the Destiny icon could be symbolizing.

Indeedles. Take a look at what I just threw together:

Unfortunately photobucket makes it a lot smaller but Imageshack wouldn't host it due to the filesize. (Note: Added this version to imageshack)

I saw that Destiny poster in ODST last time I played, but I didn't paid much attention, but thought that maybe it was a teaser of the famous "Destiny".

Nice find and thread OP

Additionally: One of those Destiny icons in your annotated map is directly over one of the *supposed* (well, really, just speculated) volcano-like structures on the map. Unannotated Picture For Reference

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Those pictures are certainly convincing, but I'd still want to be hesitant in proving anything.

Those map overlays are really freaking sweet.

I think the game is set on earth with the moon as final destiny. The game has an economic system and factions like fallout new vegas. I expect the game to be set in ancient times in a lost chapter of our history. A chapter where humans had all the technology to visit the moon but that was later lost.

Thats no moon...
I think this is pretty apt of my opinion on the matter, regardless of the fact Ken said it just to be funny.

There's two of those spheres on the map. Are there two moons? Or one moon with multiple positionings in the sky? Or what Ken said? Why would it matter the location of the moon(s) above the map?
