Hey, people don't like spread. They say it's too random.
You know what we should do? Put more randomness in.
Don't you think we should just remove spread and stick to what made Halo 2 and 1 so great?
No, why would we do that? Durrrrr
Insane amounts of auto-aim and bullet magnetism that made every shot hit even if you were swipe shooting or missing a yard and a half to the side of a person? Great idea.
For the record, the addition of bloom at least added a controllable aspect to the randomness. Your bullet could always be accurate. I will agree that bloom was implemented poorly. The shots went down the middle of the crosshair far too much when it was fully bloomed. Still, the change from a random spread to that was a step in the right direction, even if implemented badly.
As it is now, it's fine. It's a single shot, bloomless weapon in some lists. This means you aren't babied by two more automatically fired bullets if you miss your first, and there is no randomness in the bullet's path.
