Subject: Tactical Halo

Walk softly, and carry a big midget.

It's easier to say "Sniper Rifle" than SRS 99 AM

Ever since the bullet sponges on legendary of Halo CE I have craved the same type of Halo gameplay.

Massive amounts of enemies you just destroy your way through various types of campaign scenarios.

For example missions based on:

1. Solo stealth

2. Massive amounts of enemies on screen without the bullet sponge disadvantages, you simply have to stick and move while picking enemies off with 1-3 shots maximum. You know real run and gun Halo rather than slow things down with hiding and bullet sponges.

3. Team based stealth and tactics, squad stuff for some missions.

4. Support style sniping and target take downs with territory captures. Image a firefight style mission similar to activating the turrets from a Reach mission combined with distance sniping while AI call outs are relevant tactical data in real time, similar to CE Truth & Reconciliation all occurring at once.

5. Weapons on legendary remain balanced, if an elite can take me down in 1-3 plasma shots when I kill that elite and use the same weapon I expect it to take down enemies with the same level of damage, not some magical bullet sponge affect where I now have to hit the target some 10 times over for the kill.

This one sucks...

All i want to change in halo is that they add bots in multiplayer...or missions for a recorded time ....so you could pass a special multiplayer mission in a record time and your team would be in 1st rank...something like that.

Really, you like the bullet sponges and lopsided weapons of legendary?

Personally I'd love to see a seriously amped up mode of normal where the enemies are say 3-5 times more but the same damage effects etc are in play. That would make legendary kick arse!

3rd person may be the way to go. Almost a splinter cell type halo.

Spartans never die there just getting a mission brief from God

I've been craving a tactical Halo game. A game where you and your buds can actually feel like Spartans and not marines with shields. The weapons in this universe are great and have their own names why are they calling them. "Sniper Rifle", Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle?

I don't want a COD style game. I want a CS/RainbowSix Halo hybrid. Silencers, stealth, real special forces stuff. Spartans should be like DEVGRU on steroids. Wouldn't mind some crazy weapon and character customization.

Opinions?

I agree with the weapon names, it should say MA5C etc. when you pick up a weapon.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

You are talking about Headhunters, such as Jonah and Roland.

That is herecy. Dont fix what aint broke

I've always had reason to believe that the ODST's were the stealth squads of the UNSC whereas the Spartans were the super soldiers that were sent in to do everything they could to quickly change the tide of the battle. Hence why they are so powerful and tough.

Let's agree to never let you be in charge of anything ever.

"Hey what if we put 12 cylinders in a car instead of 4."

SpartanB482 - "Don't fix what ain't broken."

"Lets make guns shoot full auto."

SpartanB482 - "Don't fix what ain't broken."

Also COD isn't tactical at all. I'm thinking splinter cell Halo.

See you on the battlefield.

I was a bit disappointed that ODST didn't have tactical shooter elements.

Think Halo meets SW: Republic Commando. That would have been awesome.

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

Guys, just make a Halo version of Republic Commando.

That would be awesome...

Mind blown...

I like halo how it is, keeping their own style. Its what ive been playing for years now and its what im used to. If you made it more like tactical (rainbow six or whatever the options are) it would not be as addictive anymore, it would be trying to compete with something that already mastered their own little "genre" of games. If you changed halo into a game like call of duty or rainbow six or battlefield im sure it would be a hit for a month or two because all of the younger players that are addicted to cod and tactical might try because all they do is jump on the bandwagon, then it would ultimately fall down in active gamers once a new tac game comes out or if they got bored of this (cod like) halo game because its outmatched by The line of games they already have in place for that play style. Halo to me is more then just a game, its a journey with your friends, all the experiences you had and how those will always be there, not to mention video proof of it in the Theater mode! you also wait till the next halo is out to buy and beat it with your friends, its a cycle in my eyes that shouldn't be broken. I don't think they should change the franchise style at all. I've had halo reach for a year or so now i didn't really keep track aha but its still fun as hell to play, every game is a new experience to me, no matter if i played the game type or map 1000 times, I cant do that with most games. I bet even if i went back to play halo3 with some of my friends it would be a blast no matter what. Thats just my opinion on the topic.

Not really, it lost kids that switched from other fames because they thought it wouls be a totally new game. In a sense yes but its only adding features to an amazing franchise. Lifetime halo fans didnt abandon reach... Everyone just abandonned odst... Hehe

I don't think a tactical Halo game would really work.

When fighting the Covenant, you gotta fight them like you're a sword. You gotta hit them hard and fast. Spartans are that sword. I don't think Spartans crouch and crawl around with silenced SMGs that would merely tickle the shields of Elites and Brutes.

The scalpel like precision gameplay would work better if you were an ODST fighting Insurrectionist. But wouldn't an ODST vs. Insurrectionist game really just be a Rainbow Six game with a near future art design, and therefore be redundant?

3 years and only 1 ban, try harder next time noobs.

I would do some things to some people to make a R6 styled Halo game, VERY DIRTY THINGS. But I would make the players a Navspecwar counter insurgency force.

Yeah but bungie and 343 are fixed on the opinion of making their games easier for the new-and sometimes younger audience. (Well they are a branch of Microsoft, who have been following that thought process ever since the avatars.) Not to start a flame war but, (Exhibit A- 0 Bloom playlist.

But making you die extremely easy would be something their perception leads to a non-selling game.

Our are clearly different- but who will listen to us while we are here- in the bungie forums?
