Subject: First time? How many of you?

"I'm afraid of the man I'll become if I lay my life down for the people I don't even care for"

So Bungie is done Halo, after 10 years of marvelous success.....

Now we have something new and exciting, we're eagerly awaiting. I remember 10 years ago, I wasn't even aware of Bungie. I only jumped on the Halo bandwagon at around the release of Halo 2 and followed and speculated about the upcoming games way too much.

Now all of us are here, to speculate and theorize (such an interesting part with Bungie huge scope oriented material), about Destiny and it's components.

So how many of you actively speculated about Halo CE 10 years ago?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

10 years ago I was 7, ehh....

@spaboolly

I didn't have an xbox until my senior year of high school. So... no. I don't think nearly as many people anticipated it back then, because no one could have predicted the huge success it became. Bungie was still somewhat untested at that point, but now that such a huge number of fans know what they are capable of, I expect the anticipation for Destiny to be extremely high.

- Dawes, A little bit of everything

I got into Halo in 2006, joined Bungie.net in 2007 and I've stayed here since. I posted a lot on another forum for all the talk about Halo 3, but when that forum died, this place became my primary forum for discussing Halo and I spent quite a bit of time on the ODST forums.

I was 10 10 years ago.

I don't think Bungie was popular enough to get the sort of curious fans they have today...

Were they? I know marathon was fairly large...

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Had no clue about Halo until just prior to its release. I was A PC gamer on game spy arcade before xbox. Games like Unreal Tournament.

For you, good sir.

10 years ago I was 8... not really doing much with the Halo Franchise. Pokémon was my thing.

While I didn't participate on the forums at that time, it was all about LAN parties and place Halo CE with friends and "screen cheating" :D

Halo 2 was the best Halo game
A7x FoREVer!

Didn't know what it was until it came out and it took a few months to actually try out. Honestly, nobody I knew got an Xbox right away. I didn't start coming to the site until Halo 2 was launched and I had issues connecting to Xbox Live the first time.

Looking for clan that isn't too serious? Then join the ODST 501st Airborne Battalion. Go to http://www.501st.forumclan.com for more info.

I got Halo the day it came out. Not through choice, I just wanted an xbox and had Halo thrown at me with it.

Brainwashing, idiotic media: "hur dur, vido gaems cas vilenc n iz nt gud. dey ned 2 b baned."

Logic: Really? Then please explain how there's violence in third world countries. I guess they're all poor due to the large amount of video games they buy.

I jumped on board Halo with the release of Reach then played H:3 and CEA. Now I just need to play H:2........

I unknowingly played Marathon when I was 8-9 when I sneaked onto my older step-brothers computer. When Halo was released for the xbox I played it occasionally with him aswell. When Halo 2 came out we got xbl and it was love.

Been playing Halo ever since. Only joined the forum recently though. Kind of wish I had got here sooner.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

I didn't know about Halo until 2005. I would've been 13 when I first played Halo 2.

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

I'm not that old, bro.

I have been with Bungie's halo series from the start to the end though. But I only became a part of the online community after Halo 3 so it should be interesting to be here for the beginning of their next series.

My father bought the game 10 years ago for me (I was 7). I wasn't entirely aware what it was (again, 7 year old mind could not grasp everything). But my friend told me it was a fun video game. Soon enough, I was hooked.

Now all of us are here, to speculate and theorize (such an interesting part with Bungie huge scope oriented material), about Destiny and it's components.I'm just here for the stats. But I stay for the lame jokes.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

I played this game when I was like 7 or 8. I remember I got Halo the first time many years ago - it was Halo PC. Greatest game in the world, Halo PC is.

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

Title made me have a dirty mind.

Anyways, I was 9 at the time, I didn't know about Halo until Halo: CE released. Liked it, got Halo 2, liked it, got Halo 3, liked it, got Halo 3:ODST, liked it, got Halo: Reach, hate it.
