Is this just because Bungie is tired of being known primarily for the Halo series? Or is it just our fascination with trilogies and the fact that we can't have a set of 4 or 5 things?

What about Rocky? They didn't stop at a trilogy, so why should Halo? Granted, Rocky isn't the best example... but it's just sad to hear this could be the last game.

I think this should end it. no more waiting for the next one... Bungie has always made great games... Halo isnt the only Series out there you know....

And besides, there is SO much history in these games, Microsoft could easily make another Bungie studios, and release other Halo-Universe games.

The world's going to end.

I think that constitutes the end of a series.

Its sad but it would be pathetic if they treid to keep it going and hot for another series. It would turn into some -blam!- cartoon that just has episode after episode of repetetive boring -blam!-.

I don't think they can stretch the series out any more. Sure you can make countless spinoffs, and adventures on other Ring worlds, but it would kill the love of the game.

It seems that this time (we pray) that the battle will end on Earth. Earth is conqured and The Ark has been revealed. The fight will end here... and hopefully it will be one hell-uva ride.

They could make a "prequel" - about the Fall of Reach.

I agree man, wtf is up with \that, they can so continue this game but..... they just said this is how the world ends, doesn't mean tht the fight can't exctly end there. Then I want to know about the Arbiter and the free elites, cause I mean they were they know the truth now, so whats stopping them from making what was once wrong right again by saving humanity and ally with them. And don't forget the flood, no doubt they will come back again. But I think clearly what everone will say is, "WE DON'T WANT IT TO END!!!"

I don't want it to end either, WELL I do, BUT THIS IS SUDDEN. I expected at least Halo 3 with a nice ending, THEN a Halo 4 to wrap it up! But no, Halo 3 is the last.

I think this just makes more sense. Having this be the last game of the story line but that doesn't mean they can't have spin offs like a rumored Halo MMO. I wouldn't be surpirsed if we saw some cool games about other Spartans.

Well, in my opinion, I've always loved the series primarily for it's multiplayer component. While many people were quick to say Halo 1 > Halo 2, I believe they've both been extremely great multiplayer games. Albeit - very different.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like the single player component, but how many times can you go through a single player game before it's finally time to move on?

And I can understand your points in not extending the series' story any longer, but what about the multiplayer component?

I gaurntee Microsoft, via Bungie, could release two seperate games... One with the single player component and the other with a mutliplayer component. Each priced regularly... and still sell them as fast as they can produce them.

So my point in saying that, is that I wonder if they'll still continue the series via a multiplayer game only? I know it's a stretch... but so many people love playing Halo for the competition that I think many could be dissapointed if we will never see another Halo title (in any form) on another XBOX.

i think that they should end the story at halo 3, but i think they should continue just a multiplayer thing going sinse it is so huge. They could also go back and make us play through as the arbiter from halo 1 and so on.
