Subject: What Character in the Halo series got killed off too soon ?

Berzerk Gnome

We all have our favorite characters in the Halo series, but which character(s) would you have liked to seen developed ?

In my opinion I really wanted to get inside the mind of Miranda Keys, she was a great character and honestly the writers made a bad mistake by killing her off too early. And because of that we missed out on some great character development.

Nah Keyes should have died, she would be like the Chief, no where to go, no battles etc. I didn't like the way she died.

The character that died early was Jacob Keyes. Even though his story lasts like 60 years, we only got like 1/2 a game to actually see him.

In fact, we saw him only in PoA, TaR and 343GS.

Then he dies in Keyes :(.

Keyes died very soon considering just how much development was behind him in the books. I really wish they built up a bigger connection to him so that his death had more of an impact on you.

Of course I think the extended universe provides a much stronger association with character's anyway.
(I always find books much more easy to associate with characters since your in there head, and the Halo games provide me a place to apply that emotion.)

Good old Jacob, he died too fast.

I can sympathize with wanting to see Jacob's character developed more, but again same goes for his daughter I mean she is the child of two of the greatest and most influential characters Jacob Keyes and Katherine Halsey so I guess that I expected more out of her than a few witty lines and a few small actions.

There's a word for what I am, but I can't pronounce it.

BFA, CCS - olde and bony & one minute musings.

Aliens rip or not, Jonesy (probably in cryosleep) could have played an integral role in Halo's fiction. Should have had a rescue mission.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

They didn't do this in the book nor the game, but they should have:
Keyes lets John know he helped recruit him into the Spartan program.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Me personally, I would probably say Sesa Rufumee (the Heretic Leader for those of you who don't know). I'd have liked to know more about what led him up to that point in Halo 2 and such, he seemed like a pretty cool character.

...and then of course there's Noble Team, they were all really good characters, and I'd have liked to have gotten to know them a bit better than we did in Halo: Reach. Given a long time, I could probably think of plenty of characters in Halo I'd have liked to know a lot more about, whether they're still alive or not.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Kat.

She was starting to open up to Noble Six right before she died. She was starting to accept him on the team, not just as another asset, but as part of the Noble Team family.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Captain Keyes and Sam.

Also, the way Johnson died was utterly stupid.

Jorge. Just about the only character with humanity in that game, and he's the first to die.

We should know better, because we are better.

Most of Noble, Captain Keyes, and Refumee. Had Keyes lasted longer, maybe into Halo 3 and was killed instead of Miranda that would be a real sad moment. Noble team should have got a book detailing their backstory before the game was released (just like The Fall of Reach) and we could have had some real touching moments there.

Tech Chief Shephard. He thaws the Master Chief out from cryogenics, and I think I'm going to go on this massive, galaxy-sweeping epic adventure with my jumpsuit-wearing buddy. Then he's killed in an explosion.

It hit me hard. I damn near stopped playing there and then.
