This is a question that I believe needs to be chosen by Bungie fans and not Bungie themselves. If Halo 3 players choose one thing this should be it.

How do you want to find games on Xbox Live?

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

I would like to find them by standing outside and screaming at the top of my lungs to see if anybody would want to play with me.

Actually the current MM is fine for me, but being able to set your preferences to find an open custom gametype of your choosing would be pretty cool.

The only thing I didnt like about Optimatch was you couldnt really specify when to be the host in ranked games which sucked eggs.

Notice that when you bridge (forcing host) you get banned because it gives you an advantage.
The option was removed for a reason.

And personnally, I find the current MatchMaking fine, but im sure theyll find some new, awesome, 360 features to pimp it out more.

His account (like all his previous ones) was banned.
But posting in forums to get him blacklisted/banned can be considered spam.

I wouldn't mind MM, but then a custom game filter where you don't necessarily get to look at EVERY custom game out there- mainly, you can put in some preferences like "no radar", or what map, or gametype, etc.

Personally, i really like the way the interface for Hao 2 live is. The friends list, the pre-game lobby, alot of it is very well done. The only thing that i believe should be changed is for custom games to be able to play a series of maps in a row, and to have the ability to effect your rank.

MATCHMAKING

Its the best system out there

Stop complaining, go play some GRAW, and you will want nothing other then MM.

  • 06.13.2006 10:11 PM PDT

Matchmaking, but also a search function for customs, where host can have control and people can put up messages if they are not really playing.

And GRAW and Halo are two different games, people need to stop talking about them the as though they are the same. Yeah they both have guns and both kick ass but they play DIFFERENTLY!

Also I don't think that people really have a problem with Matchmaking, it's just they would like to have the options to play variations of they're favorite games with more people then the 5 friends that just happened to be online at the time.

Yeah because finding a game is so relevant to gameplay.

Yeah because finding a game is so relevant to gameplay.

Actually its EXTREMELY relevant, and can ruin or complete a persons gaming experience.

WOW

I compare GRAW's system of finding games to Halo 2's matchmaking, and I get told I cant because they are differnt games.

What in the hell?

And no its not relevant to gameplay because no mater the system you still play the game for what it is.

I agree. Heck, almost every other game I've played on XBL is hard to get into, or there aren't enough people, or any other number of problems. While I wish there was a custom game filter, every time I think negatively of MM, I needn't stray too far before I realize that it actually works pretty well- too bad I don't really like playing against other people except for at LAN parties, or I might actually play it as much as I used to.

  • 06.13.2006 10:22 PM PDT

Finding a game is relevant to gameplay with online games, if a player has to sit in a lobby and wait to play a game, they should atleast be able to know what game they are going to play, with matchmaking alot of people feel that right of playing what they want to play is being taken away from them.

Um... custom games?

  • 06.13.2006 10:23 PM PDT

With custom game you cannot have outsiders join, what people want is a searchable custom game server.
Most people feel the same way I do, they want a choice between Matchmaking and the searchable customs.

Okay, so if GRAW had Matchmaking, the gameplay would be differnt? Listen to yourself.
