Well, if it looked like the engine from the covie ship hows this for an idea?

EARTH IS A SHIP! holy crap im good!

if you think about it it would kinda make sence. If the forerunners were so advaced, then instead of searching the galixy for the perfect planet in the perfect possition, with the perfect conditions, they could just make one, send it out of the danger zone, then fly it to a new place to live. It could happen, and if im right i expect like 1000000 cookies, fo sho.

first of all, the big thing in the trailer can't look like a covie engine because the FORERUNNER BUILT IT!!!

Second, if it is an engine, then why are all kinds of covenant ships flying towards it?
more likely, its a signal or, just an ass load of energy being used.

1/6/2010- A day that will live on in infamy.

The Man in Black fled across the desert, the Gunslinger followed.

I dont know if anyone said this but what if the ship was part of the firing mechanism.Like it lands, connect, and it shoots thru the top/middle area of the ship?It could maybe act as a silencer/suppressor to help increase the range and or power of the artifact.

My current thoughts on the matter.

"On the seventh day, god did not rest, but rather he created 64 player multiplayer!"

Some people have said that this structure is where the Forerunner fled too once they activated the rings. Maybe this structure is really a shell...it's really not thatdeep in the Earth's crust... it's possible that this structure goes all the way around the earth, protecting the largest and most important part of the planet (everything below the crust).

Then why would the Brutes go to one specific spot to uncover the object? Why not make a stealth approach and activate it in Antartica?

Hmm, just got another idea...

lol someone suggested this structure as being an "engine" and Earth is really some kind of ship. Made me think of a book (for any that have read the Star Wars series "The New Jedi Order") Earth would be very similar to the "living" planet of Zonoma Sekot, which had a very advanced and unique race of people living there (high in psychic ability) and this planet had engines which allowed it to move away from danger. I believe it also had a very powerful shield which protected it as it travelled at lightspeed from location to location.

Because the covies already seem to have the planet dominated and under control. There's really no need for a "stealthy" approach. Who would they be need to be stealthy from? No one as far as I can tell at the moment.

The forerunners were humans. The modern humans in the halo story are descended from the forerunners. The forerunners lived thousands (maybe millions) of years before the dawn of modern human civilization. They were around when the flood existed and they created the rings to combat the flood. THEY ALSO CREATED THE ARK. If you recall biblical history, the ark was used after the world was destroyed by God. Only Noah, his family, and the animals survived to start over on the earth after its decimation. Likewise, a select few of the forerunners (or ancient humans who foreran modern humans) hid in the ark while they activated the rings which destroyed all life, including the forerunners outside of the ark and the flood. Then, the survivors left the ark and started modern human civilization from scratch after the first end of the world. The knowledge of the rings and the ark was passed on as knowledge, then a history, then a theology, then a legend, then a myth, and finally forgotten. Now, the ark and the rings are artifacts left over from an ancient human past that the modern humans and covenant have discovered. The second end of the world will occur as the humans will destroy the flood and all life outside of the ark again.
