Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

For the less perceptive of you, I was referring to the top banners caption.

Although I do enjoy the phrasing and vocabulary used in this phrase, I still am unaware of where it derived from. From the top of my head, I could gather that it was first seen in a Bungie game, or maybe an employee made it an addition to a news article a long while ago, and it just stuck in peoples heads.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I thought it was from Marathon.

It's terribly embarrassing for me.

Anyway, what part of Marathon in particular did this come from?

I'm afraid I haven't played the Martahon games myself (just installed the first game actually) but I believe that the quote is in the instruction manual for Marathon 1? Someone will likely correct me on that but in essence it's supposed to be talking about the main character of Marathon, a Security Officer, waking up out of cryosleep.

It's also the description for this forum because it got a revamp from the old version a while back.

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

but I believe that the quote is in the instruction manual for Marathon 1?

You've always been a daydreamer. Your mind has constantly filled the time between activities with imagination. Now, you fall into your old habit, and begin to daydream about your childhood on Mars, your father's death when you were seven, and his last words to you, "Make me proud. Never lose your honor." You come out of your dream twenty two minutes later. Judging it safe, you thrust over to one of the empty MP docking bays. You pull out your pistol, and pound the switch to open the door.

Oddly , this is familiar to you, as if it were from an old dream, but you can't exactly remember...
