+1 for you good sir.

I stole the idea from a thread in the Flood forums, I wanted to see what you guys thought.

*If you feel like this doesn't belong here, tell me*

So do you think they could do it by themselves?

How?

Am I supposed to write something funny here?

"By themselves", as in 4-6 guys running around without support?

Well of course we still have the Allies vs the Axis powers, but them as a Rogue Group. Though i'd assume that they'd join up with the Allies for some reason.

So to answer your question, no support, just the team and whatever equipment they brought with them.

I think they could do serious damage, but not win the war by themselves. And if they get seen by a squadron of stukas, they'd be pretty screwed. Unless Linda pulls of some SRS tricks. but she would run out of ammo eventually.

EDIT: Which side would they be on?

They'd be on the Allies side.

Remember though, i'm talking about Blue Team with all their upgraded shielded armor as well.

They'd still be up against 20mm and higher autocannons and stuff...

And if they end up in an artillery barrage, one lucky shot and BAM! you have a dead SPARTAN.

And wasn't a .30 cal machine gun threat to Mk IV?

Not necessarily... If they get in front of Tigers and/or Flak 88's, they'd be in trouble. And as far as I know, those aren't excluded.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Yes.

They could do some serious behind-the-lines damage thanks to their stealth skills which are billions of years in the future compared to WWII troopers. They could perfectly infiltrate enemy bases and cities and kill the leaders without anyone even knowing.

They'd be unbeatable in guerrilla warfare.

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

When I saw the MC against WWII I believed MC could defeat both sides, so I'm saying Blue Team could with ease.

EDIT: I think that the low tactical abilities of mainline WWII troops would be the downfall against Blue Team, as their knowledge of tactical options and skill in Guerilla warfare and stealth would provide them an advantage.

You know, as long as they don't just stand in No Mans Land like tools the whole time...

The Spartans could run at 55-65 kph without their armor. This is with. I don't think it'd be too hard for them to get out of the way, or even dodge the slower bullets of the day.

And the 30. cal. was a threat at point blank range, yes.

And as expert stealth operatives, the enemy would be without leaders in a few weeks.

I'd also like to point out that if they were running low on ammo, they could very easily just scavange the weapons of their fallen enemies.

Idealistic Insurregents are much harder to stop then a war of conquest.

Especially when this Insurgency is spread across -blam!- planets and systems in the Human Empire, not just one area of a planet.

So the real question is can a team of Intergalactic Special Forces stop an entire nation by itself. A nation which is grounded. Seems too simplistic to discuss it in that manner.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Yes, most likely.

Well considering Mark VI can handle 50mm rounds from an AT Jet, they are essenstially invincible to any realistic ground engagement from WWII forces. ESPECIALLY because S-IIs use a heavy focus on stealth and infiltration.
