Subject: Who thinks Master Chief should've killed Truth and not the Arbi...

We believe that the universe is unbounded: this is not the same as infinite: the 2-D surface of a sphere, wrapped around a 3rd dimension, has a finite size, but has no end. If you start off in a given direction on the surface of a sphere, you could return to your start point without having to turn around -- you simply go all the way around. But wouldn't that mean the universe has an escape velocity like the earth?

Are you too narrow-minded to appreciate the obvious significance of why the arbiter killed him?

Fixed.

I can't even begin to describe my level of disappointment with your reasoning, OP. To quote Bungie, they are, first and foremost, story tellers. You don't create a story based on what is cool or exciting. It is based on drama, emotion, conflict, internal struggles, and an increasing understanding of the fictional world in which the story occurs. The character's actions stem from these factors.

The Arbiter killed Truth because Truth not only humiliated and shamed him but also spearheaded a genocidal campaign against the Elites, who until that time had been their most trusted allies. It was the ultimate betrayal. It can also be seen as symbolic of the climax of the Elites coming to terms with the realization that the Prophets had abused their power and that everything inherent in their belief system was essentially a lie. And Master Chief standing aside and letting the Arbiter achieve his revenge is a testament to the respect and camaraderie that had developed between the two of them.

Mother of God. This.

They both had massive reasons to kill Truth. With the Arbiter, it was more personal. John respected this. Plus a whole other bunch of symbolism others have gone into already.

because arbiter is more beast and needs a chance to kill a phrophet, it makes the story more appealling
